Mike Bruner

Game #30 2029 Season
Bruner's Season ERA = 1.05
Bruner's Career ERA = 4.31

Season OPS Against = .449
Career OPS Against = .724

I know I shouldn't be complaining as I've got 4 starting pitchers off to nice starts this season. But c'mon dodgerbluejimmy, what's the secret???

Leave Dallas Keuchel alone. He's making up for his average play leading up to all this.

I think that perhaps there may be a hidden thing amongst certain pitchers wherein once they reach 27 or 28 they finally figure out how to pitch (so to speak) - and they harness their abilities regardless of any imp points (Spicoli, you know the pitcher I'm basing this on... LOL).

Well, Old Joe Winchester reincarnate, Mike Bruner, is down a bit since April, but he's still in the lead, albeit barely, for AL Cy Young.

2029 ERA: 2.51 (previous best 3.89, not counting 2022 since too small sample)
2029 OPS against: .572 (previous best was last season's .642, which does point towards overall improvement)

As for Dallas Keuchel, if you wanna go with an Astro pitcher who had a great season out of nowhere, I'm partial to Mark Portugal. Check out his 1993 performance! And yes, I realize this might be a bit of an older reference.
