1962-65 rebuild 1966: 2nd in division, lost div series in 7 games 1967: ditto 1968: ditto 1969: won 114 games, finished 2nd - won div series and world series 1970: won 97 games, finished 3rd 1971: the rebuild begins, pointing to 75 1975: back over 500 at 86-76, 1976: same players - monumental collapse to 70-92 1977: 10 games over 500 after 100 games - another collapse down the stretch: 3-18 over final 21 games to finish 77-85 Arrgh! 1978: 98-64 and winner of the AL - lost series in 7 1979: 90-72 - lost last 6 games to miss playoffs by 1 - played sub 500 ball in 2nd half, with same players as 78. 1980: 97 wins: 2nd in AL - winner of playoffs in 6 - lost series in 6 1981:95-67 div winners and AL champs - lost series in 7 after leading 3-1 1982: 96-66 missed playoffs by dropping 15 of las 20 games, where have I seen this before - chokers!!! 1983:107-55 Div winners and ALChamps - lost series in 6 1984: 99 wins and missed the playoffs by one game - last gasp for this group - 3 AL crowns and 0 world series 1985: In a complete surprise, the old dudes sucked it up for one more year winning 101 games - unfortunatly that only gave em a tie for 2nd - lost a one game playoff - two years in a row missed playoffs by 1 game - lucky me! 1986-88 rebuild time 1989 back over 500 with 86 wins 1990 80-82. - 1991 84-78 just treading water 1992: 98 wins, finished 2nd, lost alcs in7 1993: 91 wins, finished 3rd. 1994:111 wins, finished 2nd, won alcs, lost series. 1995 injuries run rampant 90-72 finished 4th 1996: 109 wins, finished 1st - lost div series in a sweep 1997: 96 wins, finished 2nd won ALCS lost series in 7 1998: 103 wins, finished 1st, won AlCS lost series in 6 1999: going into rebuild mode - finished with 83 wins 2000-20005 year after year of 500 ball while rebuilding 2006: 89-73 finished 3rd 2007:101-61 tied for first - lost ALCS in 6 by blowing huge leads in late innings of games 5 and 6. Yippee! 2008: 106-56 WORLD SERIES CHAMPS. (every 30 years, like clockwork LOL) 2009: 113-49 division winner - lost ALCS in 7. 2010: 106-56 division winner -and again lost ALCS in 7 weeee 2011:115-47 WORLD SERIES CHAMPS in 7 game series. 2012: 108-54 division winner by 17 games and again lost the ALCS in 6. 2013: 101-61 division winner by 7 and once again - choked the ALCS this time in 5 by blowing 3 late inning saves. 2014: early injuries led to giving youngers some xp - 85-77 2015: 100-62 finished 3rd... arrrg. 2016 : 102-60 finished 2nd - lost the ALCS in 6 with A rated closer blowing 2 saves. 2017: 108-54 WORLD SERIES CHAMPS (total surprise) 2018: and typical post WS funk - 500 ball at all star break - so time to rebuild.... 2024: 93-69 2nd, lost ALCS in 5. 2025: 96-66 tied for first in AL - won AL in 7, lost series in5 |
