Changes Put in today

December 08, 2003 at 11:24PM View BBCode

I added a few things that you should enjoy. Thanks to celamantia for the next version of Dynasty vision - let me know what you think of it. It should be backwards combatible - meaning it should work for old boxscores.

Here are the changes:
DynastyVision has a new look

League date, links to teams, and other info at the top of every boxscore.

When you PH for a younger player (in a blowout situation), it will now use the Youngest player off the bench first. This also should have the effect of fixing the bug Brad reported the other day where a Rookie came in, there was a passed ball or something, then another younger player came in.

If a younger player is PHing, it will indicate that in the boxscore.

DynastyVision looks awesome! Great job with the new look.

excellent!

Love the new DV...really cool...one suggestion for it would be to add the score to it, instead of just the inning by inning score...the size of the new DV makes it hard to see all the action and keep an eye on the score. Other than that, brilliant work!! :D

I agree with what Geoffrey said, it would be nice to see the score without having to look up at the inning by inning score. Also if the dynavision text where a player scores could be colored, much like it is in the game recape text that would be nice. (did that make sense?)

Looks great though.

I'll tinker with that tomorrow.

Okay, I've sent a version to Tyson with the scores on the DynastyVision display.

I can't use the exact same highlighting on the DynastyVision display as on the play-by-play because the colors don't work on that background, but I have highlighted and bolded special events.

The new version should also jump around less for teams with players with long names.

i am having a problem with the dynavision for the playoff games. It seems that with the very latest changes (pause botton, ect.) I have to press the faster or slower botton everytime I want to see a new line of text (in those games). In other words it is not scrolling by itself. I don't know if I am the only one with this issue or if it is just a Mac thing.

Working fine for me -- damn Mac users. ;)

I'm using two timers now... I wonder if the Mac only supports one timer. What browser and version are you using?

Andrew:

Check one of the regular season games and one of the postseason games and see if they both behave the same or if one works and one doesn't.

regular season games work fine. It seems only the games that also have the 'pause' option are misbehaving.

Then it's not the double timer; I have a bug somewhere.

Hmm, it works okay with Internet Explorer.

I should say the play by play works fine on IE. However it doesn't give the boxscore afterwords. Of course the boxscore never worked on IE.
geoffrey13

boxscore on IE has always worked for me

Well, I don't know what version of IE it is but it is probably old and my computers OS is old as well so that is probably why.

This still isn't working for me.

andrew - does it work for regular season games but not the playoffs?
andrew

December 12, 2003 at 09:46PM View BBCode

The last time it worked was game #162 of last season. Then there were a few changes put in before the playoffs (pause botton) and it stopped working.

Not much wrong that I have noticed other than the color and placement of the LOB for the walk-off piece.
