Spiderman??? I thought that was horrible. Good recent movies IMO include Idenity and Phone Booth.

Phone Booth. Yes, that one slipped. Never saw Identity.

Spiderman was good. Hulk was a cheap spin-off :P What's next? Flash?

I just saw seabiscuit and it wasn't that bad...just a little long...actually quite inspirational if your into horses(which isnt me.)

But Phone Booth was good and what was cool about it was they made it good with only about one backround setting..him in the phone booth...I cant think of another movie that did that. The Italian Job was pretty good too.

Hitchcock movie from the 50s, the entire movie takes place on a lifeboat in the North Atlantic. Good Movie.

Good Recent Movies: Adaptation, Bowling for Columbine.

Greatest Movie Ever: Dr. Strangelove (Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb)

i liked seabiscuit bcuz it made me route for the horse and i liked the fact that it wuz based on a true story but it doesnt make me wanna go out and watch a horse race unless another great comeback story comes along but i doubt it. another good movie lately wuz the recruit. i think al pacino is great in almost any movie. spiderman wuz good. didnt see phonebooth. or identity. i liked analyze that but i wouldnt say it wuz great. pretty good but not great. another one of my favorites is the bone collector. i also like bad boys and blue streak. i havent seen bad boys 2 but just from previews i think that it looks bettr than the 1st. i think that swat looks pretty good too.

the recruit

here is another movie that you can tell the ending just from watching the previews. pacino turns out to be the bad guy, right. that's my prediction from the long shot of him with a cigar in the preview.

analyze this was decent (the movie is saved by de niro and especially jelly)
analyze that was terrible. (the plot made no sense and it wasn't funny, except for one line:
de niro: coffee?
crystal: what?
de niro: somebody say something about coffee?
kudrow: yeah, that was you. you said you wan't some.
de niro: so what's the holdup?

Ok, bowling for Columbine?? what a horrible, anti gun movie. nothing funny or at all good about that movie

You clearly didn't watch it very closely, Happy. The movie is totally not anti-gun, it simply asks why, when other countries have more guns per head of population, people in the US are so much more prone to using their guns on each other.

Moore has said repeatedly he doesn't believe in banning guns. He just wants to know why Canadians have a few hundred gun deaths per year when the USA has 24,000.

Pretty reasonable question I'd say.

Added to that, it was funny as hell.

Stealing Harvard I watch recently, it was more funny than good in plot, not bad overall.

Dude, Stealing Harvard? Seriously, replace the lead actors with C. Thomas Howell and anyone from Revenge of the Nerds and you've got any of about six hundred movies from the 80's.

Keep an eye out for Cabin Fever, opening in a few weeks. That movie has more humor in its second frame than Stealing Harvard does in seventeen viewings.

gattica was interesting, but seriously, last of the mohigans was crappo (and im a day lewis fan). that movie was so bad that i called the waterfall right in the theatre. i could see it coming so i just yelled out 'waterfall!' , got a big laugh and a bigger one when they actually did go over a waterfall a few seconds later.

the Best holy grail stuff is And now for something completely different, and their TV shows (although hard to follow sometimes because they have extremely deep british accents, and talk about more british type stuff like BBC)

Skier: The reason there are so many horror movies out right now is that The Ring made big bucks last year and Dog Soldiers (which is an AWESOME flick) has earned a packet on video, so the studios have been feverishly green-lighting anything they have with a horror angle.

On top of that, independent horror flicks like Cabin Fever and 28 Days Later saw the trend coming and managed to get sold to the studios for mondo dinero.

But it won't last. These things are very cyclical - remember a few years ago it was asteroid movies (Armageddon, Deep Impact) that were huge? Then animated bug movies (Antz, A Bug's Life), and Scream imitations (Scary Movie, I Know What You Did Last Summer etc).

When The Sixth Sense came out, every second movie had to have a weird twist (Stir of Echoes, What Lies Beneath). So after The Ring showed Hollywood the obvious - that scary movies don't have to be comedies - they figured it was the next big thing.

I'm getting an average of two low budget independent horror flicks per week sent to me for review right now as wanna-be filmmakers try to catch the end of the wave (a year ago I got maye one a month), but after this summer you can bet that Hollywood will be moving on to the next big thing and leaving horror way behind.

Unless of course if Cabin Fever makes $150m, in which case there'll be another twelve months of horror films and then it'll be back to dog and cat movies or something.

Donnie Darko is awesome. They should make more movies like that. Only one even kinda like it is Fight club, but that isnt even close to as deep as Donnie Darko.
