as I predicted, the team picking up Bogen at mid-season was going to go to the world series... if you'll recall - at mid season, there were 4 teams in the NL - all separated by 1 game. Bogen goes to Brooklyn and the rest is history.congrats on pulling the trigger on the trade and taking home the brass ring.

Not sure it was quit that simple Max, or otherwise I wouldn't have been up 2-0 to start the series and giving up a 6 run 9th in game 7 wouldn't lead you to believe that Brooklyn made it thru that easy. Oh, I'm sure Bogen was a big help but my losing my big run producer Doc Luque in the ALCS didn't help Seattle either. Who knows how we would have scored in game 3 or 5 and maybe not had a game 7.
Oh well maybe next year!

the situation for the 4 NL teams in question was this: at the half way point all 4 had B+ guys as their #5 starters - even with skipping starters, those 5th starters would be getting 11-12 starts. Upgrading to an A- starter, even if only for 11 starts should give the team 2+ more wins (just the law of averages - though anything could be possible).
Perhaps Brooklyn had the better team in the NL regardless, but having Bogen (and denying the other teams from having him) sure didn't hinder their chances.
