The Seattle Volcanoes in the BETA League posted these final team stats:September 02, 2012 at 01:20AM View BBCode
The whole league looked like that this year. Six teams hit under .200, and another hit .201. As you might expect, seven teams had ERA less than 2.50 and an eighth checked in at 2.52.September 02, 2012 at 01:57AM View BBCode
yeah, the code is slanted to the pitchers to the point where the hitters almost don't matter. almost.September 13, 2012 at 05:33PM View BBCode

((what was funny was this same post was over in check this out, and it took no time for there to be a post in support, somebody asking to have a vote in their league to go to the "new batter/pitcher engine." that they read about in "check this out." i am serious. this is what they want on payside. i mean, it would be the most popular thing ever. they eat it right on up. they want the pitchers to do this.))September 13, 2012 at 11:04PM View BBCode
I would seriously leave the site if this code was moved over to regular game side, my team, lost 102 games with a team ERA under 3.00 and my only hitter with max PVR, only 38 in contact, slugged .302 against RHP.September 13, 2012 at 11:46PM View BBCode
Only six qualified hitters had an OPS over .800 in the entire league, as a contrast in 2011 63 players in MLB exceeded an OPS of .800. The top team OPS in the beta league was .691 which would have been good for 23rd in MLB last year.September 14, 2012 at 01:14AM View BBCode

2. How did it blow 2 saves?
September 14, 2012 at 03:50PM View BBCode
I knew that, actually. I was just amused by the fact it had blown more saves than allowed runs. That is remarkably hard to do. :saint:September 14, 2012 at 04:26PM View BBCode
lolz. if he would let that thing pitch, instead of wasting it closing, it could win the cy young every freaking year.September 14, 2012 at 06:09PM View BBCode

It's like being stuck in the 1968 time warp.

Prompting two questions:
1. Why didn't you use it more?
2. How did it blow 2 saves?
September 15, 2012 at 02:26PM View BBCode
he isn't talking about starting. he is talking about more innings from the pen. 60 or something is just wasting a good pitcher. they can pitch 175 from the pen and be completely awesome.September 18, 2012 at 03:12PM View BBCode

I try to use my best guy as my long reliever, then go to my closer. Don't be afraid to let your closer go for 2 IP saves. This "LaRussa-ball" handling of bullpens is stupid and doesn't result in more wins (proven by studies). It MAY result in fewer injuries and longer careers, but there is no data that confirms that theory, either (again, studied).September 20, 2012 at 02:52AM View BBCode
By the way, it's still 1968 in beta.
