And, of course, there is [url=http://beta.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=71390]this[/url], who has given up one earned run in 117 innings pitched.

And he's currently third in the Cy Young race.

I "message board jinxed" him, he got rocked for 2 earned runs on four hits in his next outing to push his ERA up to 0.22

it was awful, wasn't it? the code obviously needs to be improved, surely a pitcher should not give up more than one earned run in a season.

The previous two seasons he's won 24 and 25 games, had WHIP's under .50 boty years, and ERA's of 0.57 and 0.35...and wasn't the Cy Young winner, or first-team All-Star.:lol::lol:

they cy young is a fairly dumb award. not nearly as bad as the FOY, but still, very dumb.

FOY uses the same formula as MLB, right? But, saves are a stupid stat anyway - designed by agents to get big contracts for pitchers who are essentially interchangeable with any other pitcher.

something like that.

check this out. my starter (who i was just dead ball era hoping to get a save for while it did its side work on the mound on the third day or whatever) couldn't even get a save. had to pitch nine innings for the win in relief.

Stats don't show team shutouts, so I counted through my schedule. Brooklyn's pitching staff has 22 shutouts this year, but only fifteen show up in the statistics.

Also counted the number of times the Bums have scored exactly one run: FOURTEEN TIMES. In those fourteen games, Brooklyn is 9-5.:lol:

yeah, the team shutout numbers are just off the charts. my team has been shutout 12 times, by my informal count.

(the team was 0-12 in those games. lol.)

are there openings here or inactives to take over? I'd like to join this league.

The 2139 season just completed in Beta, exactly 3 hitters in the league had an OPS above .800, one above .820, whereas 45 qualifying pitchers had ERAs under 3.00, among teams one team posted an OPS above .700, .701 to be exact, while 11 teams had ERAs below 3.00 .

To give an example from MLB, the 2011 San Diego Padres, maybe the worst offensive team I've seen in a long time posted a team OPS of .653, which would have been good for 4th best in Beta, and as recently as 2007 every team in baseball had a team OPS higher than .701.

My team won 79 games while hitting .202 and posted a team ERA of 2.39 despite not having a single pitcher rated above A-.

It's very badly broken .

Congrats to Philly!

Yeah, I was trying to find a way to tweak the settings in order to have Chad Blume start the game, but failed at that. He was one day away from fully rested, and Wilmet and Smith were exhausted, and McCurdy was hurty. So then I tried to tweak it so that Lee would start but have a very short leash, and I guess I didn't pay enough attention to the bullpen settings that might have let Blume come in sooner from the pen. Probably didn't matter much, since he gave up enough runs to lose anyway.

Philly's pitching shut the Angels' offense down in Game 7, and the Traders deserved the victory.

Beta may be busted, but I'm enjoying it.

ah, no, it didn't matter who pitched, your team can't win one to one.

[url=http://beta.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=71661]Wally Schaive[/url] decided he wanted to do something more challenging. So, after 3 Cy Youngs in four years, six-no hitters, he retired at OS 33 to take up the violin.

Are the beta-umpires on strike?

That's okay. The replacement beta-umpires are busy umpiring the beta-lingerie league, and we can't stop that.

The stats in the Beta league are still unbalance. Batting averages are lower than ERA. Here are the batter stats:

More crazy stats

June 16, 2013 at 04:00PM View BBCode

[url=http://beta.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?player=nobody&mode=stats&id=9809752]Mark Blair[/url] has thrown 4 no-hitters in 2060 bringing his career total to 12. While this is awesome, it is totally unrealistic. Please fix it!
