This is my first time playing SD, and I can see already that my team is going to have an uphill climb to stay in the race. Looking around the league I have to say that my draft wasn't exactly spectacular, but baseball is a game of skill and chance, so you never know. Anyway, although I don't yet have a firm grasp on what's important in a player and what's not, I've checked out everybody's team and these are my predictions:
Best Offense
1. Cincinnati Reds
2. Boston Red Sox
3. Philadelphia Winklers
Best Defense
1. Chicago Night Sox
2. New York Old 97s
3. Brooklyn Dodgers
Best Overall Pitching
1. Philadelphia Winklers
2. New York Yankees
3. Toss-up (seems like there are a lot of evenly matched pitching staffs)
Fastest Starting Lineup
1. Milwaukee Brewers
2. Cleveland Cuckoos
3. Philadelphia Winklers
Predicted Standings

(By the way, KC looks like they might have a good team, but the owner hasn't set their lineups yet. IF he does I wouldn't be surprised to see them contend, but as of now they're terrible.)
