Redesigned Game Results Page for Probable Pitchers
April 20, 2002 at 02:57AM View BBCode
I added probable pitchers for upcoming games. That was a lot more difficult than I thought it would be, especially with off days in the schedule and what not. Check out Game Results to see it.
I'm not all that confident that it is correct, so please try to keep an eye on this and let me know if its accurate. Remember though that if a starting pitcher comes into the game as a reliever, or you switch your rotation around, the starters will shift around. So it may take some meticulous soul to figure out if I have it right or not. The logic seems to work pretty well, especially for the next game or two (which is the most important ones, right)
In order to put this onto the screen, I had to do some rearranging. Hope you don't hate the new set up. I'll probably end up splitting this into two distinct pages at some point in the coming months.
I also added the winning or losing pitcher from each completed game. Had to put something in that column I suppose. Note that it only goes back 2 games because I wasn't tracking winning/losing pitchers by game before then (this specific change is what caused games 5 & 6 to disappear, but it looks good going forward)

Looks good -- I love both the probable pitcher and the winner/loser from the previous games.
It probably does make sense to split up standing and results, but it's not a big deal.

It looks awesome! Very handy.
And don't worry too much about accuracy. There are plenty of managers who screw with their pitching staffs, these things are just "probable"...
I love the winning/losing pitcher attribute.
Outstanding.
