The Amateur Draft: The draft pool will appear at 11pm EST on the day the league reaches September 1st.

Draft Pick Trading: Draft pick trading will be allowed for only 5 seasons in advance. There is no bypassing this rule. You cannot agree to trades involving draft picks beyond the 5 year window.

Trade Deadline: August 31st. You can still trade after this date, but any players received after August 31st, will NOT be eligible for playoff rosters.

Renting Players: There will be no "renting" of players in the Curt Schilling League

Coaching Point Trades: There will no trades involving the "transfer" of coaching points.

Catcher Rule: The Curt Schilling League will enforce a catcher rule as follows:

You must carry two HEALTHY catcher's on the major league roster at all times and one of them MUST BE STARTING AS YOUR CATCHER with the other catcher as your backup (i.e. when a catcher is injured you must call up another catcher to take his place).

A catcher is defined as anyone having a 50% or better rating at catcher. However, players can only be converted to catchers through the minor league system (i.e. your backup catcher must play whenever your starting catcher requires rest).

Playoff Rosters: You can change your roster in between series, but not during. Playoff rosters are frozen at the start of each series.

Player Name Changes: Player name changes WILL BE ALLOWED in the first year of a players existence only. I urge that players NOT be named after actual baseball players as i'd like to preserve the ABE feel of naming. However i'd also like for the name given to be realistic names, first and last, and please NO NICKNAMES (i.e. FirstName "NickName" LastName)

Team Names: Team names must be kept sensible and i would prefer that you pick a name and stick with it for as long as possible. If you choose a team name and you wish to change it for some reason that is perfectly fine but i don't want to see a new team name every season.

Inactivity Rule: After 2 full seasons of inactivity I will begin looking for a replacement owner. The new owner would pay $55, and have the team for the rest of this 10 month period plus the next 10 month period.

Trade Reversals: If you feel a trade was extremely lopsided with some intention of collusion, u2u me at Metallica1828 or email me at Metallica1828@aol.com. I hope that we don't encounter any of this but we have all been victim to or seen collusive trading in the past.

Rule Changes: I'm following the standardized guidelines on changing rules in private leagues as set forth by Tyson here: Standardized Guidelines On Changing Rules In Private Leagues

Penalties for Violating Rules: I don't think we'll encounter this on a continuing basis, however i will verbally remind owners if i see them in violation of a particular rule. Upon repeated offenses i will deal with each case depending on the circumstances surrounding the violation and the intentions behind it. Consequences include, and are not limited to, loss of draft picks, suspension of players for a designated duration, removal of a player from the violating team, and or suspension from the league (I do not plan on having to enforce any of these and i would only do so in extreme cases).

Mentoring: Mentoring will be active as of the first season, 1950. Please take this into consideration when ranking your players for the initial draft. General rule of thumb is to maintain atleast a C+ mentor rating in both hitting and pitching to allows for the "normal" number of I.C.'s (i.e. same as under the old system)
