Yankee baiting!

OR---Maybe if I post it, somehow, it will become reality!
Why do I hate the Yankees so?
Beyond the unfair economic advantages and mindless hegemony of their team, beyond the supposed 'mystic' of their stadium (a dump), beyond their fans who seem to only resemble soccer hooligans only without the creative violence.
No, it's really the complete arrogance and distain for other teams that bugs me. The conceit they and their fans have that not only are the Yankees the only team that matters, but the assumption that they should ALWAYS win every year and that somehow baseball is better served for it.
My Kevin Brown break his arm punching Randy Johnson, putting both on the DL....

Remember kids, if Fred Durst endorses something, then for the love of all that is decent run the other way!

Yankee fans tend to think their team IS baseball, that it symbolizes the game and is the whole reason it is what it is. Sadly, there's a degree of truth to that. Beyond the 26 world championships and half century of AL domination--things that make the Yankees a recognizable name all over the world, and even among people who don't know anything about baseball (the Orioles can't exactly say that), they had Babe Ruth--a player that deserves a lot of the credit he gets for turning baseball into a modern, major sport.
That and the fact that SO MANY of the players who defined the "golden era" of baseball played in or around Yankee stadium. The Yankees aren't just symbolic of their own accomplishments, but of the dominance of all three New York teams in the 50's, since they're the only one left that has any actual tie to that history.
And if Yankee fans arrogantly expect to win almost every year, it's almost understandable. Free agency may be a new idea, but the Yanks always had superior resources and were always able to acquire the best talent, which is why they've won the most championships.

And yes, I'm aware that the Dodgers and Giants still exist, but the Yankees are the only team from that era to still play in the same city and ballpark. The Yankees are most tangible remnant of that whole 50's New York baseball thing.
