I'm not sure how you'll do with Bagwell at a regular season game, but he's always been a great signer during the spring training season. I live near where they train, in Kissimmee, and if you ever have a chance to get here during spring training that's the time to get these guys. It's gotten a lot tougher over the years, but I'm sure it's a lot easier than the regular season. As far as mailing, I did mail Bagwell and other players years ago and bagwell signed the cards I sent him. That was before he was as popular as he's become, so it's tough to say.... plus you can't ever be sure it's the real thing. I've gotten back a lot of stamped signatures or autopen signatures, and lots of times never heard back, losing the cards I sent.April 22, 2005 at 05:11PM View BBCode
I was once an avid card collector which meant I also kept up with some of the big mags like Beckett BCM... And there was usually a feature article about the signing habits of major players. You're in luck; every time I read an article, it never failed to emphasize the fan-friendly Astros from Bagwell and Biggio to others who've come and gone, like Derek Bell and Jose Lima. This prompted the magazine to taut the Astros as by far the most fan-friendly team for autographs. Like you said, however, sometimes the away team doesn't interact with fans at the game, but still... It's worth a shot.April 22, 2005 at 06:59PM View BBCode
