No he should not retire. But people should avoid ESPN because they have a vendetta against Ohio State.;)

I don't have an opinion about if he should retire or not but I think he may. Its been a tough couple of years for him with his father dying and wife haveing breast canser. I've also heard he just didn't enjoy playing this season

Remember where we're hearing the story of Favre retiring from: This is ESPN, the network that told 700,00,000,000 times that, yes, the Yankees will get both Beltran and the Big Unit in the same off-season, that Randy Moss is actually a classy, sensitive guy, the Seahawks would make it to the Superbowl, and Eli Manning would have an immmediatly positive impact on the Giants.

I take what I hear from ESPN with a grain of salt.

I don't think he will retire. He still had a really good season.

I think Favre stays on for these reasons:

Try and get one more ring
Pass 50K yards and 400 TDs in his career
His family wants him to play

And, let's be honest, who do the Packers have at QB as his heir apparent? Favre stays on at least 3 more years, IMO, giving the Packers time to find Favre's follow up, get him ready to play, as Favre walks away.

Though, I'm not 100%. I know Favre doesn't care about personal records, but he definately wants another ring, for sure.
