In Cleveland news, Shigeki Yamashiro accepted their MVP award, whilst Rich Richardson, with a remarkable 21 wins, was the best pitcher. The club man of the year award went to Ben Smith. :cool:

The official Whitey Herzog Award Night was held tonight, with prestigous awards handed out to several players that richly deserved them. Clyde Patten, the prestigously talented CF from Baltimore Sand Crabs edged out close rival Carlos Beltran for the MVP award, whilst Brother Oliva also held off a late surge by Harry Holland to win the Cy Young award. John LaRocca accepted the Fireman Award, but tripped on the way. He later admitted that he had drunk too much champagne whilst waiting to recieve his award. Aubrey Cook took out the rookie of the year award, and was cheered to the echo.Congratulations to these winners and to the teams that made the finals, do your best.
