I added in a bit of code today to track players playoff and world series appearances on the player card. It will show you how many times the player has been in the LCS, in the WS, and how many WS rings he has.October 12, 2004 at 02:40PM View BBCode
Nice idea. I would also suggest that you try to factor milestones into the retirement decision. I've had a pitcher retire with 292 career wins -- after a very decent 13-8, 4.31 season -- and a hitter retire with 492 homers. Maybe there should be statistical goals that would entice a player to come back if he were close enough. Of course, the owner could always release the player if he didn't want to give him the atbats or the innings.October 13, 2004 at 02:09AM View BBCode
I like the ring tracking enhancement. What else plays into retirement or non-retirement? Here are some whacky ideas:October 13, 2004 at 04:50AM View BBCode
Going out on top effect. A player who just won the WS will have a greater chance of retiring.October 13, 2004 at 06:03AM View BBCode
I like this addition. Maybe we could include other honors such as ROY, Cy Young, Fireman, MVP, All Star, etc.October 13, 2004 at 02:07PM View BBCode
This aren't currently stored anywhere in the database. They're calculated each time. But I would like to store them so that we can do some other cool things with all star appearances. Would have to refine the system however.October 13, 2004 at 08:35PM View BBCode
Outstanding! I love the idea of being able to keep track of these things. I also encourage the hometown idea, though I bet that can get time-consuming.October 13, 2004 at 11:23PM View BBCode
I made another post about hometown, height, and weight in the beta suggestion area.Pages: 1
