Less than 40 players

September 20, 2004 at 10:48PM View BBCode

I made some changes to the waiver process so that you couldn't have less than 40 players by simply waiving players. This is how it used to work, but it was broken at some point.

Here is the original discription of the problem:

What are you supposed to do if you have 40 players, then put someone on the DL and need to promote someone from your minors? Or what about when you promote someone from your minors and demote a veteran from your ML squad? While that guy tries to clear waivers you have less than 40 players.

You shouldn't be required to pick up a waiver scrub to give you 41 just so you can demote or put a guy on the DL or rest. And then if your player clears waivers you have to waive the scrub again. It's way to much work then to try and keep your minor leagues to 15.

This logic is only in place when you attempt to outright waive players from your minor league team. None of the other logic has changed.

We should add an option to outright waiver someone rather than have to designate for assignment and then have to waive from our minors several days later if they clear.

I complete agree with that one. It's somewhat of a pain when I just want to waive a guy straight off my major league roster but instead I have demote him, wait for him to clear options, then remember to go back and waive him. I always end up getting stuck with a couple extra guys in the minors because I forget to get to it.
