Nobody elected for the 3rd time in a row.
Carpenter went from 56,3% to 68,8% to 57,1% to 57,1% and now is out.
Three players goes for a 2nd try.

Thanks all for your votes!

Thanks for the time and effort. Tough group of voters we got here ;)

I hear you. I am starting to think no one will get elected. I thought the three guys who at least will make a second ballot would make it for sure. All three dominated at their positions for a ten year span, I am not sure what else owners need to vote for these guys.

as for Carpenter Dennis Ekersely made it to the Hall of Fame pretty similar

probably most interesting ballot we've had, a lot of tough choices. i don't think any 2 ballots were the same.

I'm masochistically proud when nobody gets elected (even though I voted for 2-3 guys). I think the Hall should be strictly for no-doubters. I still preside over the Evict Fabrique/George/Knowles Club meetings every week.

Carpenter must have the league record for most votes without getting in, he probably had over 30 votes combined. Probably 12 different owners voted for him, just not all in the same year.

thanks for enjoying this task, Felipe

Agree with Carpenter, Montague and Tinning, not sure about Dupree because of his high number of losses and high ERA.

I agree this is a very tough group of owners, but when I vote I consider the level of the HOF players of the league, for example here the line beetween HOF and non-HOF players is higher than the average, only the elite players get to the HOF, so here is a bigger accomplishment to get in the HOF. There is one league I play that almost every good player makes to the HOF, when I entered in that league I was as selective there as I am here, now I'm much more loose with my vote, because the HOF level there is different.

But I agree here is very tough, there is no player with the geodesist cap in the HOF that I drafted, hope one day I get one haha.

I admit I have seriously changed my voting, I did when Robby Mussina didn't make it, he is my measuring stick, I look at the player and say is he better than him.

And I have seen many that were as good as him (or at least in the ballpark), but for me to vote for them they must be clearly better than him (because I still think he is a HOFer lol)...

This is another tough class. I don't see how Montague or Tinning get in and Rigby, Gamwell or Tabor (with a higher career OPS) don't. It's almost 5 or 6 of them are in or none.

OK...let's talk about this. It's an interesting subject. Highlander Ted Tabor retired and got 2 votes. I gave him a homer vote but I really never felt during his career that he was a future Hall of Famer. So I'm not bothered that he didn't get elected.

How did Montague get 10 votes to Tabor's 2? Because he stuck around for 2 extra bad seasons collecting an extra 299 hits? He still didn't hit any of the big milestones. And Tabor played Gold Glove at shortstop.

Montague was a fine player no doubt, but I think I'd rather (by a little bit) have Tabor or Rustin Gamwell for a career.

How did we get so much separation on the voting of these players? Interesting.

I voted for Montague, he had 565 steals (#4 alltime) and 9 all stars to 4 and 5 for the others, to me that along with his relative longevity made him a yes and the other two a no...

upon further review I wouldn't vote for Montague, I can't explain that one, I generally eliminate hitters immediately if they don't have an .800 OPS, although he only went under after a dismal age-39 season. I guess I voted for him over Tabor because of the longevity, the all stars. I think Rigby and Gamwell were the clear best hitters here.

For me I place a lot on all star votes. How did you compare to other players at your position during your era. I look for that dominant player at their position for a given decade. To me the hall should tell the story of the league and have the best players of their decade at their given position. Apples to apples not apples to oranges.
