I think Podres is near B+ control (according to ERA and past grades)...should reach it, and by the looks of, is maxed in velocity. Could be a good even great starter. Probably hits a respectable B+ control.
Gaylord Perry's ERA and past grades tell the story of a guy who's closer to B- velocity. He's not that great, and won't be getting much better (if at all).
Frankly, I'd want more for those two...more than a playoff pick, anyway (I'm assuming it's a playoff pick). If the draft is good and it's better than that, it might change things.
But duke is a game-changer. Bill will still improve a bit and frankly should be playing 2B or 1B. He could even play SS. And he could do so every day of the season but one with that health.
You'd basically be giving up one of the best pitchers in the league and a solid (should-be) infielder for a mediocre pitcher near Duke's age and a pitcher in Podres who's pretty equal in value (and age) to Bill (though possibly slightly less valuable). I think you can do a lot better. I think you should be patient and wait until someone blows you away with an offer. You can afford to be patient because those two will maintain their value for a a while. You could probably wait a year or two and get the same kind of offer. They're just that good.
If the draft is a good one and your pick is decent and you're confident in your drafting ability, you might counter with Scott Lockaby instead of Duke, ask for Steve "Cap" Rogers (make him a starter and throw his arm off) as well as the 1st and 2nd rounder, and offer him Craig Scharer and Bill. That would be a better direction for your rebuild (it says you're doing that in your team notes). You still might be able to do better, though...depends on the market and the draft, and you need prospects badly.
(on a side note, you could promote Dolan and Greengrass to free up CPs. If you're rebuilding you shouldn't care about losing a few more games).
