League Consolidation

When a League Consolidates, how important is the original draft position to be copied on the player card into the new League format? Does it have an outcome on a players statistical performance or is it completely irrelevant? I noticed a few of my players moved down from the 1st to the second round. I compared some others players from other teams (my phone captured the old league for a while) and they were perfect. I'm curious if this has any outcome on performance, I know all the 2nd and 3rd rounder's that make the HOF but the question is does it have any impact? It probably has no effect but you Sim Vets might know something about this I don't. Thanks in advance for any answers on this subject.[Edited on 9-5-2017 by rickskbc]

A players draft position has no bearing on performance in any league, at any time, ever.

I came upon this and could not understand what the heck you were talking about. Since there has been a bunch of merging either agreed upon or up for debate about, I figured I'd jump in and ask the OP to clarify more.
Not trying to insinuate dirt was anything other than 100% correct with his explanation, but rather understand why rickskbc would think his roster changed.
If I'm to assume correctly, you are referring to the [url=http://www.simdynasty.com/depth.jsp?teamid=124884]Miami Renegades[/url] franchise you are the owner for in the Vizquel Spahn League, no??? If so, I don't think your league has moved forward in the merger as of yet. The player cards for your Renegade players would not have changed in any way. They show up in a way that suggests they are waiting for the 2021 season. According to the plan for merger, they will all be part of a new league that will begin in 1970. I don't think they keep any of their stats, but they would keep the same attributes.
Imho, I think too many owners are unaware of all the stuff that gets lost during all these mergers. From what I've heard it's not just like the PTL teams just get added in to the 2021 VSL season and you go from there. To me, that's what the OP seems to believe the merger will be like. I'm pretty sure most of the data/stats/etc. gets left in the remains of the old leagues, like the former [url=http://www.simdynasty.com/standings.jsp?leagueid=206]Warren Spahn League[/url] and the [url=http://www.simdynasty.com/standings.jsp?leagueid=659]Omar Vizquel League[/url] look like now. Your current roster would be effectively cloned so none of your players will have different ratings or anything, but it won't just be like a continuation of the old league. To most owners that kinda stuff isn't important. Most just think of the players as code bits and try to win as many championships as possible. Some owners like to conceptualize the SimDynasty game as also an interactive league that compiles stats/history/records/etc. For those, all these mergers tend to water down the product (once again, imho).
