Gally goes for 300

August 21, 2017 at 03:22AM View BBCode

Monday's series finale in St. Louis against Mighty Joe Stevens, if he gets it he'll have to earn it.

He is still very good, should get 319 to become the winningest pitcher ever in the CPBL

Johnny appreciates the vote of confidence, but getting W's hasn't been easy for my dude since the last couple months of '12. I give him like a 51% chance at 319.

first crack at 300 was thwarted by a 3-run homer from that censored /league legend Buck Look. next attempt is early Wednesday against the pitiful bats of the Highlanders, shouldn't be a problem.

League legend Buck Look...

For any new owners...a CP trade for him triggered going private and creating a great set of rules in the CPBL.

As far as the Highlander bats go...300 is pretty much in Criminal Gallivan's back pocket.

0-for-2, looks like the 'Lander bats have awakened, averaging 6.9 runs over the last 15 games, though they've gone just 7-8 over that span.

3rd time's a charm? next try is the middle game Thursday in Pittsburgh, facing Walt Aloma.

lol

Gally thwarted again, this time the Criminal bullpen did him in, blowing a 3-run lead in the 9th.

4th try will come Saturday morning in Florida. What kind of schedule is this, does the guy ever get a chance in front of the home crowd, lol.

A little celebration starring 9th inning hero Mark Ross. With about 75 of those 299 wins coming at my expense, this felt gooooooood

lol, it would be so cool if we had stats vs. each team, career-long or even just for the current season. sometimes i'll compute them myself for SPs when lining up my playoff rotation.

I've done that too. I doubt it means anything, but I still want to line things up right.

Pretty sure the database can be picked through with SQL. Depends on how the tables are set up but I'd hope each AB has a line with opposing pitcher. That's how I would set it up and would be super easy to create an amazing report. If nothing else, it would provide the power to be the Sim Elias Sports Bureau.

In fact, you could combine all the leagues and create a best of sim list. We'd finally know who the sim leaders are for sure.

0 for 4, this story's got legs. He finally gets a shot at home tomorrow vs. Greasy Wasem and the Gothams.

Gallivan did pass Borkowski for 3rd on the all time K list. He'll have to return for a 21st season if he wants to challenge Jefferson for 2nd, he's 226 behind.

Giancarlo Stanton has hit 14 home runs since this thread started, and Gallivan gets his 300th on his 6th try, with a CG 4-hit win in Brooklyn.

it's been 45 seasons, and 7 real life years, since the CPBL saw its' previous 300th win, by the late Jack Morris of Brooklyn.

Ishiwata cycled by the 6th inning in a 16-8 Criminals win (and Gallivan gets the no-decision)

Ishiwata (Y-Ish) should seriously be considered for the first japanese player in the HOF in the future. He hit almost every season above .300 and he is a legend in the postseason, imagine what his total numbers would be if he were in the league since he was 23 y/o (he was drafted at 28 y/o).

with wins in each of his last 5 starts, Gallivan has surpassed Jack Morris in total wins (including playoffs) with # 329:

if he comes back next year he should have a great chance at the official record.

I think that he'll return for the official record, unless he wins his 10th ring, in that case he will want to retire on top.
