He's only coverted 1 ic since he's been drafted lol.. I did trade for him only gave up a second rounder.. Was hoping he'll improve a little bit after i traded for him, and just have a some depth in pitching. I dont remembering seeing anyone convert ic this bad, it's almost as he's program to improve as a new catcher would be..

that is a really bad minor league improvement system. I would get out of that league for sure.

He's on a bust curve, and the PNL is a variable improvement league. After season 2, you should have waived him, or at least promoted him to see if he's a minors bust/majors gem.

Here is the opposite of your guy, in the AOL (also a var dev league) Jim Riedling went from a 4th round waiver wire B-/C- os20 pitcher to A+ overall

Surprised the initial poster hasn't released his bust yet.

Man, Riedling is a perfect example of the value of later rounds pick in a var. dev. league.

OP did get rid of Garvey. The team that drafted it was the Boston franchise. That owner traded Garvey for a 2nd & 3rd round pick which in my mind isn't much better than a flat out release. I think the initial owner gave up too quickly, but that's still not completely proven. It's year 19 improves in the majors and minors could suggest a "bust in minors/bust in majors", but I would argue it may still be a "bust in minors/gem in majors". A 19 year old is going to convert poorly in the majors no matter what. However, check out his 2/4 conversion in the majors during his OS 22 season. By that point, OP would have had clearly enough evidence to just promote him to the majors to test it's variable development path from 2081 and on. However, I'm assuming he chose not to as a B- overall pitcher would be less than ideal to have contributing many innings on a playoff roster such as Seattle's.

Which brings us to the current owner, the Texas franchise. Texas has been the owner with enough evidence to know what to do with Garvey. JPKellySr should promote the pitcher or release him. It's obvious every improvement chance in the minors is a waste. So basically OP did the right thing and traded it while it still had value. JPKellySr is the one who is ruining any possibility of improvement via not promoting it.
