That seems to happen a lot more often than not. It seems that most top teams tend to lose in the first round of the playoffs... unless they are just unbelievably stacked. At least you didn't linger around .500 until the final 15 games of the season with a team that should have won 110 games. Nearly everyone of my pitchers and half of my lineup had the worst years they've had since my team made the competitive leap... all at once. I'd whine and say that it rarely ever happens in real life MLB.... but my Cubbies are proving that a false statement right now.
