The what have I learned thread?...

May 06, 2017 at 02:29AM View BBCode

Many of us have battled for years some here and there some steady as a rock and so on. Thus your 2 shiny pennies are worth afortune in passing wisdom down. And we call it what have I learned.... In meaning 1 or 2 key points in moving forward.

Geos point 1 - Drafting --- Forever Geos realised that overall rating means zilch "have zimmer to thank" and team needs are important but never let a huge talent run away because they seem out of the ordinary. Spunky is proof positive. as we play book him to fame.

Geos point 2 - each and every day I struggle agility and speed seem to go automatic on my current team. Them red letters seem to shine like diamonds in the mine.

Geos point 3 - draft draft draft combine combine combine study study study trade trade and rade only when it fills a long term hole.

Geos point 4 - the rest you have to determine build the best run stopping line and then set the D to cover the pass and or vice versa get a nasty secondary with agility and speed and cover the run. And then again there is always the balanced way.

Oh and last point 5 minutes of scouting your next opponent does help.

Point 1: The secondary is the most vital piece of a defense. Securing a good third level allows you to make it a game of yards and not tens-of-yards

Point 2: The offensive line is the most vital piece of the offense. No matter who is under center and who is receiving or running you aren't doing jack if you're under constant pressure or have no blocking to support your runs

Point 3: Don't draft the best player at the time or really low guys who will take a wish and prayer to develop, but find the best intersection of current-skill and development patterns, try to maintain a stable roster and watch them grow

Point 4: Maintain a relatively stable roster. Knowing at all times exactly what your team is capable of and isn't is very important and you cannot do that if you are constantly changing your roster and loading it with variables

Point 5: Don't play predictable offense. However you do it, keep the defense honest.

Point 6: Watching the DynastyVision version of games helps a lot more as you will often lose the impact of certain plays by just reading blobs of text at once and you'll miss things.

Point 7: Don't give up on the run

Point 8: Don't bank on red-aggression quarterbacks. They will always let you down when it counts. Every time.
