Please protest proper trades

It's everyone's right to protest any trade they want, but please protest severely lopsided trades or else this league is going to go to crap real quick.
The last trade protest was understandable since it was a new owner coming into the league giving up the 2nd overall pick, but we have two experienced owners here who have traded with each other a lot.
Just protest proper trades in the future. That's all I really ask.
We don't want to turn into that league that protests every trade. So far we have been pretty lucky with that.

Not sure I get what you're saying. Are you asking us to protest the trade between you and San Diego? Or asking us NOT to?

The NEW owner in question(from prior trade) if you look at his owner's Card I would say he knows how to Win. I do believe you should have moved on from this as the league has had it's say on it. You should have posted that on top of this trade(the one that is up for Veto right now) That you also got points. Enough said.

Wasn't me Pecker just saying.
I don't see this deal as horrible. Would I have done it? Probably not, but trinity is obviously trying to get one more year out of his playoff run... So to him it may have been worth paying a mid/late 1st round pick for a B/A SP and a B+/B+ pitcher. Nothing spectacular but probably worth it for SD.
CP's carry a value of an early 2nd Rd pick or equivalent... roughly. This is the average cost that I've seen over my 10+ yrs playing this game, so it has little bearing on this deal.
This shld not have been protested IMO

This is a non issue because this trade is a non issue. Trinity and I make numerous trades with each other and we both know what we are doing. We made almost the exact trade just one year ago #1478263 if you want to look it up and no one said a peep. Why? Because it's a legitimate trade. San Diego made the playoffs and I ended up with the 20th overall pick. That netted me nothing due to the draft being so weak.
I understand "certain" owners wanting to make waves and try to make a point. Just keep in mind that trading the #2 overall pick isn't the same as trading the #20 overall pick.
Good luck to everyone this season.

The only time a trade should be vetoed is if there is CLEAR collusion. Everyone should be allowed to manage their team however they see fit, even it's poorly.

If you are referring to me as the "certain" owner, I'm not about making waves OR points, not on a sim baseball site, anyway. And I can assure you I wasn't the one who protested it, but will also point out that I requested clarification in a U2U about the deal, and having received no response, I did vote against it.

If everyone votes, the issue will settle itself. "Nuisance" complaints will quickly die off because they will lack support. Clearly bad trades get overturned. The system works when owners vote. Where it falls apart is when owners ignore the vote or abstain (both have the same effect, abstaining just takes the vote off your screen but is otherwise not voting) allowing a smaller number of owners to affect the results.
Note that I have not analyzed the trade in question. Two trade abuse reports are annoying but not excessive, and I don't know if both were filed by the same owner or not (although if we start seeing a flood of reports I can look to see who it is to see if abuse is involved). If everyone will take a few moments to look at the trade, it should be clear if it represents a good trade (in which case you should vote to uphold it), a not great trade that is one you would never have made but was made in good faith (in which case you should vote to uphold it), a trade so bad it will damage the league (in which case you should vote to overturn it) or a trade that looks like collusion (no discernable benefit to one side at all, same players continually traded back and forth, etc., in which case you should vote to overturn it).
It's everyone's right to protest any trade they want
Not really, trade abuse reports can't be used strategically or to harass. A bona fide explanation needs to be provided in the abuse report, and if it's nonsense or patently false I may cancel the protest or in extreme cases block that owner from future protests for a time. I can count the number of time I've taken these actions on one hand, though.
Short version: All protests should be voted on and the standard isn't just a bad trade or shortsighted trade, it's an abusive trade.
