2022 JJL Hall of Fame Vote
November 22, 2016 at 08:19PM View BBCode
The backlog is cleared and we're ready for the re-start of annual voting. Here are the rules:
70% vote for election to Hall of Fame
50% vote to remain on next season's ballot
4 ballots max per player
Unlimited votes per owner
Voting Deadline = Trade Deadline
I think we're good on the voting thresholds as those were already established. I put in the 4 ballot max - in my experience guys tend to get more votes on their 2nd but after that it falls off. If they're not in by the 4th try, odds are it's not going to happen. With unlimited votes, there isn't the same lame constraint the MLB HOF. Up for debate, but we can vote now either way.
2022 Ballot:
1st Ballot:
[url=http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=10683925]Jake Gardner[/url] - SP - CHN
Gardner was a career Beagle racking up 3 All-Star appearances and one title. Gardner finished with a 209-166 record winning 20 games once and at least 15 games a year over an 11 year span. His 2687 strikeouts ranks 3rd all-time among Beagles. He was lights out in the Beagle's 2014 World Series victory winning all three of his starts and surrendering just 3 runs in 24 innings.
[url=http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=10380539]Randy Mayer[/url] - C - WAS
Check the long time Halo's transaction page and you'll find two - his promotion and his retirement. Mayer was a big part of the Halos success for a long time and racked up 11 All-Star appearances. All but two of those were as a starter and he was elected MVP in 2012. He racked up 7 Gold Gloves in addition to 402 home runs and 301 stolen bases. He was a .280 hitter in the playoffs although he couldn't win the big prize in 3 trips to the World Series.
[url=http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=10587065]Matt Goodwin[/url] - 3B - SEA/PIT
Goodwin entered the league as the #1 overall draft selection in 2002. He won the Rookie of the Year award in 2006 and racked up 7 All-Star nods. Defensively he was asked to play all over the diamond. While mainly a third basemen, he had over 300 starts at shortstop, second base and left field. He won a Gold Glove at third (2012) and second base (2017). He finished with 2554 hits, 313 home runs and 217 stolen bases.
[url=http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=10380511]Marcus Jensen[/url] - CF - LAA
Jensen was drafted by Kansas City but dealt to then Anaheim and spent his entire career in Southern California. He went on to win Rookie of the Year in 2004 and was part of 9 All-Star teams. Jensen was known primarily for his speed and ended up 15th all time in stolen bases with 562. He won a Gold Glove once in all three outfield positions. He is the franchise leader in Runs, Hits and Stolen Bases.
2nd Ballot:
[url=http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=10683841]Harry Gonzalez[/url] - C - SEA/ANA/PIT/COL/MIA
Harry was traded 6 times in his career starting after he was named to his 6th of 7 all-star teams. He was 24 years old when drafted and played just 13 seasons. In that time he racked up 1662 hits, 199 home runs, and 932 RBI's. He won 4 Gold Gloves while throwing out 44% of base stealers.
[url=http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?player=nobody&mode=stats&id=10176140]Ben Fisher[/url] - RF - SEA/PIT
A 1998 second round pick, Fisher carved out a nice career that resulted in back to back MVP awards in 2009 and 2010. He was an All-Star 7 times and ended with 2871 hits, 312 home runs, 1356 RBI's and 360 stolen bases.
[url=http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=9171578]Candy Boyle[/url] - LF - KC
The big stat that jumps out on Boyle is his 627 stolen bases which is good for 8th all time. He also collected 2972 hits and 1720 runs (15th all-time). The long-time leadoff man was part of 4 All-Star teams and won 9 Gold Gloves in left field. Boyle was a 2nd round pick in 1990 and played 19 seasons with Kansas City.
[url=http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?player=nobody&mode=stats&id=10072189]Chief Hand[/url] - SS - SEA/MIA/KC/ANA
Hand started his career bouncing around via trade before landing in Seattle in 2002. He started slow but broke out with one of the best single seasons in the league. In 2007 MVP season he led the league in hits (207), doubles (40) and RBI's (127) while hitting .325 with 33 home runs. His breakout came after just one All-Star appearance and kicked off 4 straight All-Star seasons. After going to Miami in 2011, he won the MVP award in 2012 and was an NL All-Star three times. Hand ended up with 2549 hits, 345 home runs and 1415 RBI's. He also hit .277 in the playoffs while winning three championships.

[url=http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=10273950]Bill Caminiti[/url] - SP - MIA/STL
The 2nd overall pick in 1999, Caminiti played the bulk of his career in Miami. He won 257 games while losing just 97. He was an All-Star 4 times as part of a dominate 4 season stretch. In those 4 years he won 27, 23, 29 and 20 games. He was the Cy Young in both of those last 2 seasons. His 29 win season tied Brent Pope's 2002 record for most in a single season. Bill pitched in 13 post-seasons winning 3 titles.
