Hard Knock Life (The Tale of Washington and the Injury Fairy)
September 14, 2016 at 01:35AM View BBCode
With it being mathematically improbable that I will see any sliver of the postseason, two major injuries of 5+ weeks forced two of my favorite players onto the IR alongside promising rookie DE Harrison Kind who didn't even make it out of the first month of the season.
I know these guys have some questionable health ratings, but you want to talk about an injury fairy? Thought it was amusing enough to post my total injury count this season thus far. Since my team is so young I'm hoping they naturally develop some better health stats but wow, this is wild stuff.
To be 5-6 in a season focused on development with all of these injuries is something I'm quite greatful for.

Francois Damocles of the Washington Capitolists is injured with an ankle ligament sprain and is expected to be out for approximately 27 days.
First injury of the season in the preseason (I think). I shrug it off, this DE is nice but I have a nice rookie who is already past him on the depth chart. I think nothing of it.

Perry Steiner of the Washington Capitolists is injured with a wrist fracture and is expected to be out for approximately 40 days.
This one stung and was the first injury requiring a bunch of roster shifts to accommodate. Steiner is the pride and joy of my o-line and even though I didn't expect to win a lot of games this season, this still sucked.

Giovonni Vesuvius of the Washington Capitolists is injured with a shoulder muscle strain and is expected to be out for approximately 14 days.
Aand yeah, so my starting guard and starting tackle are now gone for the start of the preseason and my #2 DE all in one game with multi-week injuries.
9/24/2000
Harrison Kind of the Washington Capitolists is injured with a hip fracture and is expected to be out for approximately 87 days. The Washington Capitolists have placed Harrison Kind on the Injured Reserve list for the remainder of the season.
Lol, so now at this point, this guy ends up on the IR, my #2 DE is already out for a long while, crap.

Lance Jue of the Washington Capitolists is injured with an ankle ligament sprain and is expected to be out for approximately 21 days.
Starting CB gone for 3+ games. Lol once again multiple long-term injuries in one game. I'm deep at CB so I'm not too shaken but wow.
10/1/2000
Giovonni Vesuvius of the Washington Capitolists is injured with a shoulder joint injury and is expected to be out for approximately 32 days.
This was dude's first game back! That's a combined 46 days of being injured so far out of this one player. I think he may have come back too early, re-injured in the same area of the body (shoulder)
10/8/2000
Bronzell Shurtcliffe of the Washington Capitolists is injured with a hand fracture and is expected to be out for approximately 34 days.
Wow, I think to myself. I'm really getting some kharmic butt-whopping at this point. Now the starting guard who had just returned, is out, alongside this, the backup guard.
11/26/2000
Perry Steiner of the Washington Capitolists is injured with an ankle ligament sprain and is expected to be out for approximately 29 days. The Washington Capitolists have placed Perry Steiner on the Injured Reserve list for the remainder of the season.
We get him back, I've readjusted my sub-in out settings so guys aren't staying in as long as before, now my crown jewel on the o-line is gone for the season :(
11/26/2000
Mustafa Zuberi of the Washington Capitolists is injured with a shoulder joint injury and is expected to be out for approximately 36 days. The Washington Capitolists have placed Mustafa Zuberi on the Injured Reserve list for the remainder of the season.
Sigh. This guy turned out to develop into a much better FB than I anticipated, I was just tweaking the run game and bam. Thankfully, in my obsession with tight end's I have a TE who can replace him on run-blocking but wow, where does the madness end?
