Game of the week #3 (Norfolk at San Diego )
September 04, 2016 at 05:16AM View BBCode
This a rematch of the Divisional Playoffs from last season, when the Big Wave went into Norfolk's the Jedi Council and used 5 turnovers on their way to a 35 - 28 victory.
But this season, it's the National Conference East Division leading Jedi (1-1) going into the National Conference South Division leading San Diego's (2-0) "Your name here" stadium with revenge on their mind.
San Diego has the #3 total offense and #2 passing offense, with 31 year old Art Christensen throwing the ball 64% of the Big Wave's offense, 30% of the passing game going long. Art is 55 of 90 for 558 yards and has 7 TD's while throwing 4 interceptions this year.
Norfolk is 4th in the league in sacks with 7 and DE Chewbacca has 3 of those, good enough for 2nd in the league. Both teams lead the league in interceptions with 5 while the Jedi returned one for a score.
Poll closes at the end of the 12:30pm EDT.

Again, without another great turnout where only 7 of 32 owners voted, San Diego by 57%.
Considered the underdog by many, the Norfolk Jedi is asking "Where's the Offensive Empire?" as they have not let the Big Wave once cross midfield while surprisingly leading a 28-0 upset at the half. The Jedi used their destructive defensive Force (see how I played that in) in holding the #3 overall total offense to a total of 41 yards and 4 first downs while causing Christensen to throw a horrible 4 of 14 times with an INT and brought him down with 2 sacks.
Meanwhile, Norfolk is putting on an offensive show of their own as they have ran a total of 43 plays...twice as many as SD, and having the ball for over 18 minutes for 17 balanced first downs and 324 total yards...208 thru the air and scored 21 points in the 2nd quarter alone without the help of a special teams play or a turnover. OW Kenobi is 13 of 20 with 2 TDs while RB Koon carried the ball 12 times for 71 yards, (5.9 avg) and a Rushing TD. And once again....all this is at the half.
