Crazy First Quarter

Rochester has to be kicking themselves so much right now after a nightmare first quarter...

Rochester ran down the field and got to the SAS 3. They fumbled the ball away though, and did not score.

On Rochester's next possession, they fumbled the ball away at their own 46 yard line (leading to a missed SAS FG attempt).

On Rochester's third possession, they got a huge pass interference call (even the refs were feeling bad for them). They moved quickly to the SAS 1 yard line. And fumbled the ball away.

Fortunately for them, they did end up with a safety out of that.

Unfortunately for them, on the possession ensuing from the safety punt (their 4th possession of the quarter), they threw a 74-yard pick-6.

They had time for one final play in the quarter (5th possession)....and it was a 10-yard loss on a sack.

So here are the drives for Rochester through the end of the first quarter:
Drive 1: 8 plays, 59 yards, FumL @ SAS 4
Drive 2: 3 plays, 7 yards, FumL @ ROC 46
Drive 3: 5 plays, 61 yards, FumL @ SAS 1
Drive 4: 3 plays, 4 yards, INT returned for TD
Drive 5: 1 play, -10 yards

I think to be fair you ought to do play-by-play narration of your own nightmare quarters or games. I have also noticed you don't do much talking until you are back on the winning track and then it usually involves the foibles of the other team. I can tell you if you were to do a play-by-play of a game in which I was victimized by fate or AFE or just incredibly bad luck I would take offense to that. Living through it the first time is bad enough, but having the other owner go into precise detail of how they have benefitted from my misfortune would tend to make me a little crazy. Just for your information.

Thanks for the heads up Chuck. I do post plenty of times when things have gone horribly for myself though. It's not meant to be offensive to anyone, as we all realize that this is just incredible bad luck, nothing more.

For your information, I was away in Europe without computer access for the past week and just started being able to watch games.

I do wish we had more people posting in this league...

I will post, but I enjoy honesty which can be very intimidating to some people. Also, it usually turns into a mismatch of 5 owners against one and that tends to make for a free for all. I have experienced that kind of posting in similar leagues when people feel they cannot speak for themselves and they enlist the help of their minions to run interference. Straight football is enjoyable to me but innuendo and inside jokes by child hood friends, not so much. I struggle with being positive in my opinions, but that is because humans are so illogical and dishonest with themselves, in my opinion. Every post I make will use the qualifier "in my opinion", since otherwise it can seem as if I am arrogant enough to believe that I can speak for every one else, which I never attempt to do.
