No Sunshine in Pittsburgh

May 07, 2016 at 09:17PM View BBCode

Steelers fans were dealt a huge blow today with QB Franklin "Sunshine" Turner going down with an injury late. Turner's injury occurred as he led the Steelers to the winning drive in a 24-17 win over a tough 9-2 NE team.

Turner exited with a 2nd-1 at the NE 4 and 1.31 remaining in a 17-17 game. Paul Crewe came in and McNeil eventually ran for the TD. The defense did their job for the final long minute.

MRI confirms a left hand bone fracture , 6-8 weeks - . #4 Paul Crewe (3rd Yr SLU) becomes the starting QB with newly acquired #13 Mike Machurek (Syracuse) now #2.

Coach Booze pointed out that Crewe is similar to Turner and capable of leading The Steelers the rest of the way. He has a stronger arm than Turner actually, said Coach Booze. He remains positive, that Crewe, the offense, and the strong trademark Steel D will get it done. "We'll be alright "...

Pittsburgh seemed to be rolling on all cylinders at 8-4 with 5 straight victories and a share of first with Denver and Cleveland.

Things don't get easier next week as the face Denver and then Cleve in 3 weeks.

Well done Booze. The AC North is shaping up to be a battle down to the wire.

Hey at least the AC North runner-up is likely getting a wildcard spot. Either me, BC or MON are going to the playoffs. Everyone *else is going home.

I have to either win one more game that BC does out of these last three games, or BC has to lose to BUF or I'm not making the playoffs in spite of some alarmingly strong wins against some of the juggernauts of the season. I took my eye off of the ball and BC beat me twice and it's put me in a very complicated situation. Unless Buffalo beats BC I can't even afford a tie.

Go Buffalo? Countin' on you buddy.
