The top 3 fantasy scoring QB are;

1) James Johnson Norfolk Admirals
Is there a QB controvery in Norfolk? Apparently so for the Admirals. Johnson played in all 16 games while NOT starting one, only playing basically half of the season at 201.0 minutes the entire season. Yet, the 32 year old former 1st rounder and #5 overall from the 1965 class of State University of Idaho had the highest completion percentage of those who qualify with 67.8, completing 256 of his 380 passes for 2507 yards and a league leading 25 TDs thrown while being intercepted only 8 times to help his team reach the playoffs for the first time in 7 seasons with a 15-1 record. He was sacked 10 times the entire season and his QB rating led the league at 98.9. His fantasy score is 173.8. Talk about a sleeper!!!

2) Bobby McHugh Las Vegas BRONZE
The 24 year old former 1st rounder from Edenton, NC, has played for 3 seasons for the Bronze where he led his team to its second straight playoff appearance and 2nd divisional title in 4 years with a record of 12-4. He completed 57.4% of his 479 passes thrown for a league leading 3378 yards. Every 13.1 of his 275 completions resulted in a touchdown, with a grand total of 21 which was best for 3rd in the league. He was the 5th most intercepted QB having thrown it 19 times to opposing players. He loved to throw the long ball, having hurled it 116 times (2nd most highest total). He was sacked 22 times. His fantasy score resulted in being 158.2

3) Marcus Winther Minnesota Wolves
The 31 year old 8 year veteran and former 1st round #4 over all of the 1966 draft used not his arm, but his feet to edge out Red Parker of my team, the Seattle She-Devils by .1 of a point to claim the third spot in the QB spot with a fantasy score of 153.7. Winther rushed 27 times for 107 yards for a 4.0 average while breaking the goal line once while fumbling 4 times.
But, just in case everyone forgot how good of a QB Winthers is, here's some reminders. Winther had the second highest completion percentage in the league with 67.3% while leading his team to its 2nd straight Divisional title. He completed the 4th highest amount with 317 of his 471 passes thrown for the second highest amount of yards with 3268. He connected 15 times for a score while being intercepted 12 times. He was also sacked 20 times.

The top 3 fantasy scoring RB's are as follows;

1) Howie Wattelet Arkansas Redbugs
There is no sophomore jinx as this 22 year old 1st rounder came out early from the 1974 class of State University of Pennsylvania as he started 16 games helping his team reach the playoffs for the 1st time in 4 years. He was given the ball the second highest amount of times in the league with 319. He used those opportunities to rush for 1473 yards, which was the 5th highest amount of yards this season. He averaged 4.6 yards everytime he touched the ball and 92.1 yards a game. His best game of the season was in week 11 against the Charlotte 49ers where he rushed 30 times with a 7.1 average per carry for 213 yards and 3 TDs. He also was second overall in rushing TD with 13. Coming out of the backfield, he was able to catch 62.5% of the 40 passes thrown to him. He had 25 receptions for 138 yards, the longest being 18 yards, and 7 TD while dropping 1. His combined TD total of 20 is first for the league. The only thing bad one can say about Wattelet is his tendency to drop the ball when it mattered. He had the second highest amount of Fumbles in the league with 8. His fantasy score ended in being 238.1

2) Johnny Mooney Providence Heretics
The former 2nd round pick and 4 year veteran woke up this morning to find that his season long efforts helped his new team after being traded last year reach the playoffs for the first time in 5 years. He started all 16 games where he was the workhorse of the league with the highest amount of rushing attempts with 363, 50 more attempts more than his nearest rival. All that hard work resulted in a league leading 1747 yards. he crossed the goal line a total of 8 times this season. Every 121 times he was given the ball something bad happened with his 3 fumbles. he also had 8 receptions for 135 yards and 1 receiving TD while dropping 3. His fantasy score ended up being 235.8

3) Gerry Pugh Chicago winters
The 26 year old 1st round product from Lebanon, OR started all 16 games where he carried the ball 312 times for a 4.8 average. he rushed for 1499 yards and was third in rushing TDs with 11 while fumbling only twice all season. His best game was in week 6 against the Arizona Bandits where he rushed 24 times for 253 yards and 4 TD's. His fantasy score resulted in being 221.9

His fantasy score ended up as 175.6

3) Basil Raglin Las Vegas BRONZE
WOW!!! what can I say? When a team drafts a player, they expect that player to make an impact. And what an impact the rookie made. The 21 year old product from Madison, WI already saw this coming when he was picked 21 overall from Technical College of Texas in last seasons draft. He started all 16 games where he was the second most targeted receiver in the league with 172. He had 94 receptions for 1159 yards, with the longest being 48 yards. he averaged 12.3 yards a catch and 72.4 yards a game. His best game was week 9 against Boston Copperheads where he caught 6 passes for 104 yards and 1 TD while dropping 1. He is tied for 2nd in the league in receiving TD with 8. Definitely the ROY if he doesn't win the MVP as voted upon by the owners, but that's not my department. His fantasy score ended up being 166.7

And there you have it. The candidates for the 1974 MVP. Please feel free to voice any opinions while being sure to vote in the upcoming poll for the most deserving. owner participation is what helps make a league great
