Game Statistics Are WRONG
April 10, 2016 at 02:01PM View BBCode
Has anybody noticed that the code for this game keeps inaccurate statistics?
The 'Play-By-Play' statistics don't add up to the 'Scoring Summary'.
In my 1st quarter against Chicago, the Play-By-Play shows Archie Griffin carrying 6 times for 17 yards.
The 'Scoring Summary' credits him with carrying 6 times for only 15 yards.
Now, I realize it's only 2 lousy yards (hardly earth-shaking), BUT...
If THAT'S wrong, then what ELSE is not being calculated right? (right?)
Is the game missing first downs, other missing yards that were earned, turnovers, etc., etc., etc.?
There IS the possibility of game-result consequences.
(Although, NOTHING could help my puke-inducing Ironmen this season.)

This is a known issue. It has to do with how the fractions of yards are rounded.

To give you an example:
Player A runs for 5 yards. (in reality, it was 4.5, but it was rounded up)
Player A runs for 5 yards. (in reality, it was 4.6, but it was rounded up)
When you add up the yards from the play-by-play, you get 10 yards (5 yards per carry).
When the Sim adds up the yards, it gives a total of 9.1 yards (4.55 yards per carry).
Which is more accurate?
