Trade Complaint

March 07, 2016 at 11:54AM View BBCode

There has been an abuse report on a recent trade: <br />Trade #1376186 has been completed between the Anaheim Hoosiers and the Washington Wild Things. The Washington Wild Things receive <a target = "_blank" href = "http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=11560983">Jim Kent</a>, <a target = "_blank" href = "http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=11523884">LeRon Jackson</a>, <a target = "_blank" href = "http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=11501170">Jerry Fivecoat</a>, <a target = "_blank" href = "http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=11582045">Louie Lester</a>, <a target = "_blank" href = "http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=11831601">Jack Hardy</a> from the Anaheim Hoosiers in exchange for Draft Pick - 2203 Round 1 (WAS).<br /><br />If we get 3 total complaints on a trade, the trade will be posted to the comments area so an expert can chime in and give their feedback. If 3 complaints are not received in the next 72 hours, the matter will be considered closed. To lodge a complaint, please visit http://www.simdynasty.com/tradevote.jsp?tradeid=1376186&newsid=1070842406.<br /><br /> I ask that you refrain from discussing trades. Nothing positive ever comes from this. Anyone discussing any trades publicly may have their posting privileges revoked.<br /><br />I'd also like to remind everyone not to get too bent out of shape over a trade complaint. Anyone in the league can complain about a trade. We don't investigate the merits of the complaint, every complaint is posted. So if you feel this complaint is without merit, please simply vote to allow the trade to stand.<br /><br />If there are aspects of the trade that need to be brought to light, such as CPs involved in the trade, please post a note in Support for Admin.<br /><br />IMPORTANT: Please remember that not all trades are equal, and not all inequal trades should be overturned. A trade should only be overturned if there is bad faith on the part of one or both of the teams involved. If both teams get something they need out of the trade and neither party is taking advantage of an unaware trading partner, the trade should stand. Overturning a trade may not be used as a strategic option.<br /><br />If either of the two owners involved in this deal would like to comment on the deal, please [url=http://forum.simdynasty.com/post.php?action=newthread&fid=4&subject=Trade%201376186%20comment]post a private note in Support[/url] and the Admin will attach your comments to this thread.<br /><br /> See this thread for info on this process:<br /> http://www.simdynasty.com/oldforum-viewthread.jsp?tid=311476<br /><br />Thanks, <br />Admin

Note from Frenchy616:

I apologize if this deal is lopsided. It has been a while since I have played Sim and by no means was that the intention. If anybody could explain why it is a bad deal I would greatly appreciate it.

My thought when making the deal was I am trading 4 people that are 2-3 seasons from retirement and getting a 1st round pick for it. Not a single person was even A- power and the SP is going to sit in my minors. I actually thought this was a pretty good deal for me given my current CP situation.

Note from Admin: In the Site Rules, we specifically request that owners not comment publicly about the propriety of trades as such discussions rarely end well. In this case, if you voted against this trade because you feel like Frenchy616 is getting the raw end of the deal, you may go ahead and discuss it since he has explicitly requested it, but let's try to not let it go south. Thank you!

I think this group is a good group and is capable of healthy conjecture. I liked all what I was getting. Perhaps i would have given more only if the players were more to me than just back ups. Not to say back ups don't have value look at the health of my team... Scary . I know how it feels to be looking to trade while starting a rebuild and it can be frustrating as your players age but are becoming difficult to trade. I have done deals like this before where I make the trade because it is better to get some value than none. At this age these guys will drop in value fast.

would you make the trade if you were trading the players?

I would want a little bit more. And if this is reversed I will be willing to renegotiate to take a little less or give some more

I'm fine either way. The thing is I evaluated and sent similar offers out to every competing team in the league that had a potential need for these players and got rejected. I don't foresee any situation where I'm going to get more. I was the one that proposed the trade.

Either way I am fine with it. I appreciate nobody being unreasonable. Have a good week!

I think far too many owners place too high a value on the 32-35 year old players. Anyone who trades for them takes a risk of rapid declines and retirements so they are valuable only to contending teams or teams that need short term mentors. If I were trading the players I probably would have asked for a 2nd pick to be included but if this was the best offer I had, I would rather get a 1st pick than watch the players leave and get nothing that might help me moving forward.
