Houston dominance continues

ABE clearly has the most enormous hard-on for this Houston squad. 10 straight World Series appearances in a 24-team league? 14 out of the last 17?? I don't care how good your team is on paper or on the field.....that is an ungodly amount of good fortune. Ironically enough, his two best seasons of 116 wins, '71 & '72, are two that he didn't make it to the big show.
Good 'ol ABE.

Enter conspiracy theories :)
But if you look at my other leagues, you can see that I don't have the magic recipe to winning world series.
And let's not forget that Detroit reached the WS for the third time in a row, so there's a nice rivalry brewing :)

Thanks :)
Detroit has a great team, SD and Philly too. Any of the series could have easily gone the other way - I think I split my games against SD and Philly in the regular season.

The last NL team to beat Houston in a playoff series was the Colorado Ashes & Embers way back in 1974. At the time, Colorado was being chaperoned by earlofduke2, before being bought by ironmule.....who then sold the team to Leonard. Since then, Houston has beaten:
Philadelphia - 8 times
San Diego - 5 times
Los Angeles - 2 times
Pittsburgh - 2 times
Cincinnati - 1 time
New York - 1 time
San Francisco - 1 time
I sincerely hope We finish ahead of Houston in the standings this year so they can play Arizona....one of the few NL teams that has yet to feel the wrath of the Howitzers.

Arizona it is :-)
Guess my streak has to end someday. We'll see if I can prolong it this postseason or not :)
(ARI has been incredibly successful with a team that doesn't look all that powerful. Good job!)
