when watching DiamondVision, at what speed do you watch?

December 01, 2015 at 10:17PM View BBCode

To all users, I am just curious...when watching DiamondVision, at what speed do you watch?

There are nine slashes. You can also have zero slashes, which actually runs. So let's call zero slashes as 0, and then 1 through 9 on the green slashes.

I usually watch at 8 slashes. and sometimes 7 slashes. Anything slower is just too slow.

I usually only watch the postseason - when my team is involved - at 6 slashes, which is 1 action per second. That lets me glance at the baserunning situation, the batter coming up, and gives me time to hit the pause button before the next result in critical game situations when I want to slow things down and analyze it more fully.

Watched a game on DV yesterday and I was wrong. I use the 7 slash setting, but hit the pause button every time a man reaches scoring position and advance the game action one result at a time for maximum emotional digestion.

I am at 6 as well, unless I know I am limited for time and have to sneak in a game, then I bump up to 8.

I am like Mark, I usually watch only post season games (my own ones) in their entirety, sometimes I will have regular season games running in the background at work or if I am multitasking while watching a football or baseball game on the tube...

Honestly don't think I've ever watched one.

I'm much too impatient for diamond vision. Maybe if they make a robot voice to call the plays I'll listen.

Please make this happen.

I used to watch Diamond Vision after every game for the first season or two. Was really fun. Now I just catch it occasionally during the playoffs. Robot voice I'll listen to, though. Bring that.

Oh, and when I do watch it's on speed 7 I think.

7. Only watch my postseason games when I'm at a device that can handle DV. Sometimes I'll watch the 7th game of a playoff series I'm not in.

I do the one right before the fastest speed.

I typically watch 8. The faster speed forces me to pay more attention to it. I like to watch games, but my main league currently is 15 GPD, and I just don't have time.

I watch at 7 slashes. Sometimes I slow it down to 3 or 4 if the game is tied in the 9th and I want to give myself a heart attack due to the drama.

I watch at 7. 8 seems just a tad fast and 6 or slower is unbearable. I used to watch a lot of games and use them to tweak my management prefs. Now that I have the prefs pretty much down to a science, I usually only watch playoff games.

I love diamond vision. I watch it as often as I have the time (which is fairly often now, since I'm retired). I watch at 4 slashes so I can savor the experience :).

This thread got me into watching DV again. Forgot how much fun it was. I'm liking speed 6 if I want to savor it a bit, 7 if I'm in a hurry. It's pretty easy to carve out a couple minutes here and there to catch a game.

7-fast but not too fast. Usually in postseason and opening day. I also watch important regular season games that I already know my team won.

I watch every game(2 3gm/day leagues) . My team at bat at 6, opponents at bats-7. Never check result before watching.

I've watched every game in DV since this thread began and caught a lot of stuff that made me adjust managerial settings. One thing that helped a ton was getting much more aggressive with stretching, to third especially (after another guy hits a single).

I've also seen a lot of things that's costing teams games. Pulling starters way too early is the biggest one. Stealing too aggressively is another.

This isn't necessarily bad. What if your bullpen skill is equal / better than your starter? You can then boost your offense by having pinch hitters batting in the #9 position rather than the worthless at bats for the pitcher.

A good strategy, for sure. This involved more traditional setups, where superior starters were yanked innings 1-3 for B+ type, long and mid-rotation crap (often leading to an exhausted pen getting hammered in subsequent games).

One guy I remember pulled his ace (with A- endurance) in the sixth for a pinch hitter while leading something like 3-0. I got to his pen and won.

I watch at 6, and love it. 6 is slow enough to have some tension in key situations without being boring, and gives me a chance to look at who's up (and their stats), and appreciate what the game situation is.

I watch every game if I have a team that's even close to being in contention; for rebuilds I skip it and just check box scores.
