I'm assuming he stays put until his minors conversions drop drastically and then I insert him into the closer role. That's currently my plan anyway. But interested to see if you experienced guys know something I don't.
My team is young and wont win much this season. I'd like to give him a shot at the ROY so an early season decision would be best.

Another year in the minors might be a good idea if you can spare the CPs. The advantage of playing him is that he'll get more endurance chances, although he won't convert very many at his age.

When you do bring him up make sure whatever bullpen role you assign him is the 1st choice in every scenario, you want him to work as much as possible

Personally I almost never do the modern bullpen of setup and closer. I more often will have a pair of great bullpen guys who can do the majority of the work.

I agree, just forget about trying to win ROY. Just work to get him as many ICs as you can. Best way to do that is get him short work in every game possible with good mentoring.Personally I almost never do the modern bullpen of setup and closer.
