Noticed this while looking at some lifetime stats for Hall of Famers, Jim Fletcher of Anaheim needs 49 hits to reach 3000 in is career. With 47 games left this season, he has a chance.

I'd say he has a pretty good shot, he'll at least get close. Anybody thinks he hangs around another year if he can't get there this season?

I think he's retiring after this year. I would move him to 2nd or leadoff to get some extra ABs.

So close. I thought he was gonna do it. He made a great push over the last 2 series. Maybe ABE will let him hang around one more season to get 3000 hits.

Jim "Mr. 3000" Fletcher is going for it one more time. He needs a whopping 2 hits to get him to the landmark number. It's an uphill battle he's got ahead of him, but he seems determined to brave the expanse.
