playoff race

July 30, 2015 at 03:05AM View BBCode

12 Teams make the final playoffs, 6 from the ACS and 6 from the NCS. With 1 game left there are still battles to be fought, divisions to be won and bye weeks to be earned. In an incredible season finale, there are very few locked in roles for the final march to the sim bowl. without further ado.....

ACS

Bye Weeks

Las Vegas God is the only team to have secured a bye week for the playoffs. Congrats to LV on a great season! Rest your starters and avoid injuries, even if it means taking the loss.

By all rights, Tennessee gets the second bye week. Barring a loss and a New York 60 pt blowout to pass Tennessee's net points, TEN will gain the other bye

Division champs

Pittsburgh has locked in their division title and a playoff berth. One more game to play the reserves and prepare for the wild card round

The first real fight of the ACS, Syracuse takes the division with a Washington loss or a Syracuse Win. Washington takes the division with a win AND a Syracuse loss AND they have to have a margin of victory high enough to have the highest net points in the division.

Wild Card

Washington takes a wildcard with a win and San Diego takes the wildcard with a win AND a Washington loss.

New York gets the wildcard if they cannot pull off the steep requirements to take their division

NCS

Bye Week

3 players sit at 11-4, running for the 2 bye weeks. If the season were already over, Minnesota and Virginia would have the byes, since the season is not over....

Minnesota gets the bye with a win and either a VIR loss or a NO loss

Virginia gets the bye with a win and either a Minn loss or NO loss

New Orleans gets the bye with a win and either a MINN loss or a NO loss

If all three teams win, MINN gets a bye with the best conference record and VIR would get the bye based on Net Points

Division Champs

The team left out from the above three, will get the division title.

The remaining division is the between Montreal and Miami. Since Montreal beat Miami in both meetings through the season, Miami only takes the division with a win AND a Montreal loss.

Wild Card

Saskatchewan earns a Wild Card berth as Minnesota beat them twice this season and knocked them out of division title contention.

Hamilton can earn the wildcard with a win over STL in the final game, STL takes the wild card if they win.

Hope you all enjoyed the read, and good luck to everyone in the race for a better or position or just a chance to extend their season.

The only thing I'm confused about is you say MINN(better CONF record) and NO get the bye if all 3 win(including VIR) because of NP, but doesn't VIR have more NP's then NO right now? Wouldn't they have the bye as of now, not NO? I know it's a mute point as we will see what happens, but just trying to figure it out for when my team is in that situation!!

fixed that little flub. If there are more little mistakes like that, the idea was to give an understanding of the battles still being fought as the last game of the season comes soon. hopefully i at least did that

Yes you definitely gave insight! I've only been in the league a few seasons and thought I was missing something! Good luck in your game!!

Need to check out the net points in the conference first if there is no head to head to tie break.

Since Minnesota has a 9-2 conf a win automatically gives the bye since they did defeat Virginia in the regular season and New Orleans is 8-3 conf. They also get the bye in NO or Vir lose.

Now for the 2 teams in the big fight --- Vir + 93 conf net / Nor + 77 conf net --- a net difference of 16 advantage Virginia - lose by 8 and Nor wins by 8 will lead to total net Vir +115 Nor + 119 but this will go to conf record

Or win or lose both Nor must net +16.

Vir Vs Sask final game / Nor vs Mia final game --- I dare not to pedict the outcome of the results. As you can see it is close. Now In Nor and Virg they are hoping the Salt Crocs lose their final game. As they win and rest for 1 week.

Then to mess things up let's say Roc wins Sask loses Stl wins Roc takes second Div rec. but lost to stl ??? yet sask beat Stl ??? what do we do then??? Ok too dizzy now.

Play off odds on the way tomorrow.

I am forever in the wildcard lol and I always play a horrible game and get knocked out. Hopefully this year will be different. Lewis Zimmerman is chasing his second receiving yards title. No disrespect to the Knights because hey, they beat me, but I can't see Syracuse going down to them, that is a playbook-busting team. They have a great offensive line, they've acquired some ridiculously talented receivers, they have one of the most dangerous quarterbacks in the league and their running back is probably the most talented player in the league for several years now. As much as it pains me because I wish it were me, I can see them taking the world title this year

Actually, in the AFC South Divisional race, if TEN loses and NY wins, NY will win the division (and the bye!) based on a superior conference record, since both teams are playing conference games today. That's a lot at stake in the last week!

Thanks for posting this vonjoho!

1 quarter remains and the races are hot and heavy!!!

NY has an 11 pt lead while Tenn is down 2. Can Tennessee rally to win and take the bye and can NY hold on to win? If Tenn falters under the pressure and fall, all NY has to do is hang on in the final quarter to gain the first week bye in the playoffs.

Washington is up by 4 through 3 quarters, a close game that promises to come down to the wire! Syracuse is down by 19 though and and Washington needs them to lose to go with a win if they can hang on to take their division. Can Syracuse rally the troops and make an epic comeback over the severe underdog Florida and secure the division? Or will they take the loss and risk Washington ending strong to snatch the title away?

in the NCS New Orleans is struggling to stop the rookie QB in Miami, allowing him to throw the ball all over their defense. Down by 20 they have a lot of adjustments to make and a fourth to go their way at every level if they want to win.

Minn and VIR both are up by 14 and 13 respectively, Virginia's defense stepping up big to stop the powerhouse SAS and Minnesota controlling the Seattle offense at every call. If the games hold out, VIR and Minn get the bye and NO has to play tomorrow in the wildcard round, albeit with home field advantage.

In the division race MON is struggling to gain any seperation from Hartford today, down by 2 with 1 quarter to go, they need to win if they want to make the playoffs but Hartford is not going to step aside and let them have it. Will Hartford ruin their chances of a .500 season and potentially knock them out of the playoffs?.... Only happens if MON loses and Miami holds on to their lead through one more quarter. In an amazing performance from the 3rd round QB, Miami is lighting up NO secondary, providing a passing attack that is seemingly unstoppable for the second week in a row. Up by 20 Miami only needs to hold on to the lead for one more quarter and hope that Hartford can pull off the upset to get to play another game.

Someone figure bout the Roc/Sask//STL 3-way if somehow and only if the scoring stands??????????????

Sask beat Stl in season.... Sask drew even with Roc ..... But if they both go 10-6 Roc has a better div record takes 2nd. But then Stl has a better conf than Roc yet they lost to Sask What a lovely mess.

I am not sure how SAS got in over Rochester. Roch beat SAS in the season and has the better division record, so by all rights they should have gotten the wildcard seed over SAS. I am a little confused on that one

Doesn't look like you'll be getting that wildcard spot this year.
