Charlotte Chinook, fifth year under their new owner vonjoho, have steadily improved each season. Today, in a nailbiter of a division matchup with Miami, both teams at 9-6, Charlotte pulled off a victory with 2 touchdowns in the fourth and holding Miami to 1, the teams having been neck and neck the whole game. After a matchup earlier in the season where Charlotte felt the heartbreak of a hard fought overtime loss to Miami, they exulted in their victory to end the season with the best record in franchise history in the last 16 years and the first playoff appearance since 1999.
