Scheduling formula question

April 20, 2015 at 09:56PM View BBCode

Yeah I know I have a lot of questions lol but I like to live and learn you know. So my question is have you found a solution to the scheduling formula problem? Cause in zeta the AC south has played the AC north for ALOT of seasons now and it's getting repetitive and in the Franco Harris league I played the same division in my current season and again it is repetitive. So whenever you see this pleas answer my questions Chris.
Thank you :).

Ok something needs to be seriously done about the scheduling formula in zeta because I'm only playing two new teams this season everyone else I've played from last season. I know this isn't the nfl but I mean the scheduling formula is not good right now it needs to be fixed.

I understand. I've got to get this passing situation locked down first.

Okay, here is the way scheduling works:

There is a "master schedule" which dictates which teams play each other in which weeks in the database. This schedule refers to teams in an abstract manner: "Conf0 Div2 Team3 at Conf1 Div0 Team1".

At scheduling time, a grid is created that temporarily assigns teams to these abstract identifiers and the schedule is filled in. There is code to alter which divisions and teams line up in the various slots (conf0 is always AFC and conf1 is always NFC) based on the season. So one season the conferences may go North East South West, the next West South East North, the next North South East West, then West East South North, and then the pattern repeats. So although div0 may always play div1, the divisions these represent should change every other season.

I have a test page that on the surface appears to confirm this but I am double checking the code to make sure.

That doesn't seem right, is there a way it could be in an specific order or changed into a different format cause that way is probably the reason that it's messed up right now.
