for various reasons I've been thinking about a few things lately. some of these I've suggested before, some are (for me anyway) new.
1) Change Auto-Waive system. I don't really know how this works, exactly. my understanding is that when a team is over 53 and a game is about to start AFE kind of picks the guy over x age with the worst overall grade and waives him. that's fine but overall grade isn't the way most owners evaluate payers an inevitably people get upset. obviously the best solution is for owners to not go over roster minimums. but sometimes accidents happen and when guys lose someone they wanted to keep there's almost always some kerfuffle when they ask the league for the guy back. my proposed solution is twofold.
one, allow teams to designate up to three guy on the inactive list, in order, for AFE to waive if this situation arises when the owner is offline. two, make sure AFE does not inactive players in the starting lineup. someone in one of my leagues lost his starting FB in this manner (over 53 and over 45, AFE deactivates the starting FB and then waives him) and some minor fireworks ensued. it's a pretty easily avoidable situation though, so why not do that?
2) Adjust draft position limits. I don't know how many times I've suggested this before, but I would love to see some changes here. FB/HB and SS/FS are not in any way the same position, but they're treated that way by the position limit choices on the draft board. i shouldn't have to risk drafting a SS just to be able to get a FS. there is also no way to limit picks in a position group that is broken down into it's component pieces. if I want to draft 2 OL but be open to taking a player at any of the three positions then I have to set my draft limits to 1 or 2 at C, G, T. but then I may end up with 3 OL instead of 2 or, god forbid, 6. my proposed solution:
one, split HB/FB and SS/FS into separate positions so that we can cap them separately. two, put an overall limit of position groups like OL/DL/DB.
3) designate how we want the defence to react to shotgun formation. with the recent changes to the passing game (ie nerfing deep passes) and the ability to ad runs out of shotgun, some devious owners (which I say with the utmost respect) are now running exclusively out of shotgun and passing exclusively out of I/PRO. this gives them an advantage in the running game because the defence defaults to nickel where we have an extra DB and one less LB to combat what is now a running formation. right now as the defence i am able to see what they're doing but not do anything to combat it other than doing something substitutionally like playing a LBs at both S slots. my solution
provide a coach pref set that determines what to do when faced with the offence in shotgun. one could toggle between 'always play nickel', 'always play 4-3' and 'allow formation called by defensive prefs'. the other could toggle between 'always defend the pass', 'always defend the run' and 'allow defence called by defensive prefs'. then we can have as much control over the play as does the offence.

Just a quick thought that may ease the burden on draft nights and would be useful otherwise is like on the baseball side being able to see the player card when you hover over the players name. I really like that on the baseball side and would like to see it on the football side.

Definitely agree. It would be a welcome feature.
