For a refresher: in System 2:Players will retire if they are 34 or older and meet meet one of the following criteria:The idea is (from the game guide): "as long as a team is willing to give a player some playing time, he will continue to play."
- They have spent fewer than 120 games on an active roster the previous season, including time spent on the Disabled List.
- They are on the waiver wire.
- For batters, they have fewer than 125 plate appearances in the previous season.
- For pitchers, they have fewer than 18 appearance (starting or in relief) and fewer than 25 innings pitched.
- They reach the age of 50.

I agree with this philosophically, though overall grade for hitters is kind of ambiguous, but trying to make rules to stop tanking is like trying to hold water in your hands, sooner or later it ends up on the floor.March 03, 2015 at 05:44PM View BBCode
Originally posted by tworoostersPoint well taken. Still, the "reach age 50" is a flaw in this system - how many real players play anywhere near that long? There should be some other marker for forced retirement.

I would think so but I will say that with system 2 I've had players stay productive into their early 40s, an age they never seem to get to in system 1.Pages: 1
