Goose Goslin League Hall of Fame Guidelines
The GGL acknowledges that it is impossible to get a handle on issues such as character, off-the-field reputation, and other career intangibles when considering who should go into the league's Hall of Fame, though it is not for lack of trying and imagination.
Therefore, with only statistics to guide us, to win a nomination to the Goose Goslin League Hall of Fame, during his career a player must have accomplished at least one of:
PITCHERS
5 All Star Game appearances or
200 Wins or
300 Saves or
2,500 Strikeouts or
3.25 or less career Earned Run Average or
Won a Cy Young or Fireman of the Year Award or
Posted above average statistics over the length of his career
"Above Average" as defined by the guy(s) screening the nominees.
BATTERS
5 All Star Game appearances or
2,000 Hits or
300 Home Runs or
1,200 Runs Batted In or
350 Stolen Bases or
.825 or higher Career OPS or
Won a Most Valuable Player Award or
Posted above average statistics over the length of his career
"Above Average" as defined by the guy(s) screening the nominees.

Understanding that most Hall of Fame players will qualify in multiple categories, a nominee who qualifies in only
one of the above categories shall not be listed with the other nominees, but shall be listed with an "Honorable Mention" for their career. These players - to use the language of Parliamentary Procedure - are eligible to be voted into the Hall, but must be
"seconded" by the team's current owner to be fully considered "on the floor" and added to the regular nominees.
The entire league shall vote on each class of nominees, as selected by the Hall of Fame Commissioner (or his designee) and preferably at least one other owner for objectivity. A 75% approval of those voting for each candidate is required
*and* at least eight (8) votes must have been cast for the player before being enshrined in the Hall. Two (2) votes are sufficient to keep a player on the ballot for the following season.
A player may remain on the ballot for five voting terms, once nominated. If the player does not receive at least 75% of the votes cast after five attempts, that player will be dropped from the ballot, even if he has accumulated at least two (2) votes.
