Here's something I really think would help the pay leagues and abandoned teams

Currently I comish in the EDFL and FHFL and both leagues have been well kept up to date with some minor hassles.
My $64,000 question. As i believe most comishes if not all are very responsible and fair. How hard or simple would it be to give some kind of simple roster control (no drops trades etc..) of expired teams and or abandoned teams to the comisioners of the leagues (this should include draft setup). This would allow us to keep the teams in shape and prevent the famous 2 season multi punter draft (LOL)..
Let's face it a well kept team is easy to sell within the scope of 1 season a poorly kept team is a very hard sell.
100% competition keeps players on longer and makes all of us try harder.
Key example BSFL -- 3 teams are in shambles and even as a player I am thinking twice about renewing in that league. with 3 teams being roster dead I am not having fun winning my division and these teams should at least be maintained if it's a do able thing. secondly while other teams sold they are still listed.
This would be a very welcome change to a few of us.

I agree with this, a team can get screwed pretty fast if not managed. But I thought leagues were paused if there were uncontrolled teams? If thats not the case then the commish or someone (regular players?) could and should be available to be sure the team is maintained. Of course itīs probably better if the maintenance is not done by a person in the same division.

That's the dog gone catch. I could see possible problems but just like the team will be deleted warning (on trade abuse) any comish may have to face similar warning if given complete control of roster moves (not a good idea) . Personally I would love to have only the option to reset roster sub in out and default play book to balance 50/50 remove all advanced settings at team default and then season start game 1 and complete control of draft selection (maybe as simple as a press the button) to do it all. Any abuse gets reported. . no trades drops adds let that be auto as it is.
And to your point about league pauses it is not a good thing to delay what we enjoy. and leagues do not pause thank goodness. that would be a disaster.

look, there's a line here. enabling a commish to tidy a roster, particularly by activating recent draft picks, is a good idea. maybe even allow them to zero out depth charts so that the new guys get used by AFE when appropriate. but allowing them the ability to edit strategies, change sub out settings and set draft boards is a terrible idea that is an open invitation for abuse. most commishes are good people, for sure. but there's no reason to allow them to run two teams, which is what that would be.

I inherited a team in the Beta League (... so, no money spent, no weep made).
The team was very bad, but I tried for 2 or 3 season to set good drafts and try to rebuild it (young players with good potential on active rosters, playing seasons to upgrade their skills).
After 3 season I started to quit, and I preferred to focus on my preferred free league, with a roster build up on my own (each year) and fitting strategies to players' skills.
This thing made me think that it is very depressing to get an abandoned team (even if not paying ... imagine if you have to pay it), with very poor players and no chance to change them with some good ones. IMO It would be a good idea if the team could be reset, starting with an average random team, like the ones created by initial drafts.
Things like "PUSH THE BUTTON" and have a new team.

After the SB, have AFE randomly distribute the abandoned teams amongst the owners who had the best records for the season finished. These guys are already successful so may be less inclined to fudge things and last waiver/draft picks make it hard for them to directly benefit from skullduggery.:P (Personally, I think we're all basically honest and would do the best for the league). Their duty would be to check the roster to see if the team needs a QB. Then go to draft page, reset the wish list to all 7's and 0 out K, P, QB and C unless the team needs 1 of these. NO juggling of AFEs draft order. After the draft has run, the owner waives all the aged and weak (B-/C+), activates the new picks and plums from drafts past. In the case of Seattle, he picks the best young P and waives the other 7. (Causing a feeding frenzy). After the preseason, the team disappears from the surrogate owners' team list.
The owner never opens the strategy page. We let the previous owners' strategies stand. AFE does a good job of picking starters and subbing. No trading.

Good example of a problem team ---

Just look at the bench. Picks would have been well used team would have been an easier sell.
As far as distriibuting amongst top players... I've seen some nasty win at all other teams expense guys (it takes 1 or 2 to ruin it all). Comish can do this easy 5 - 30 minute job easily.
I like the idea of default sorts in the draft 0 k/p - leave the rest as is that give any new owner trade strength since the teams will draft high more often.
As for the roster reset to balance it evens the game for all opponents.
As for Dirtdevil's comment correct not to completely manage 2 teams that is a bad thing-- just to reset to default ABC simple as 123.
The Question is it something in the works or is it even feasable.
