Where are the Blocked Punts

I have seen blocked FGs and XPs but I don't believe I have ever seen a blocked punt in SimBowl . Is that active ?

OH OH... Booze may have opened another can of worms. I don't recall that either may be wrong? It should be at a very very low frequency.

I have seen a block punt twice since I started playing sim and that was September of last year TWICE! why does it rarely happen

It should happen more often, of course less than FGs or XPs, but if you have a center playing out of position, a bad hike,heavy rain or snow, extra strong, high jumping DLineman. A kicker playing out of position as a punter. Many teams including myself use one kicker . Blocked punts would force team to use a K and P as is the norm.

I know it happens because I lost a game in one of my pay leagues not long ago because of one. First one I had seen and it shocked the hell out of me. Not to mention want me to throw my beer at the monitor.

I recall when I first started in the pay leagues After several seasons I figured out how to stop a team that won the division season in season out over and over and over again. And I still lost due to Him getting special team favors and still winning. Almost made me give up but was patient enough to stick with it. Not everybody will if it's always and often against them. If it causes losses at more than minimal frequency many will give up.

What scares me is it will favor the chosen ones meaning better teams and winners over losers perhaps frustrating guys and newbies just about to break into being a winning team.I recall when I first started in the pay leagues After several seasons I figured out how to stop a team that won the division season in season out over and over and over again. And I still lost due to Him getting special team favors and still winning. Almost made me give up but was patient enough to stick with it. Not everybody will if it's always and often against them. If it causes losses at more than minimal frequency many will give up.

The code related to punt blocks hasn't changed in ages. I'll take a look to make sure it is doing what it is supposed to.

the chances of getting a punt blocked are directly related to the punt formations. If you are in Tight Protect all the time you will probably almost never get a punt blocked but will be giving up longer returns. Spread Wing will allow more punt blocks but will give you the best shot at stopping returns. Tight Wing is a balance between the two.The code related to punt blocks hasn't changed in ages. I'll take a look to make sure it is doing what it is supposed to.

Special teams are 1/3 of the game and are very overlooked by SD owners. Obviously luck always plays a part, but I dont think there is any more luck involved on special teams than in any other phase of the game. Good long snappers, holders, gunners, block and return teams and good strategy will almost always out perform lesser competition, with or with out luck.
