games off for part-time catchers

This is not a problem, just a "how does this work" question: I have a guy who plays RF against RHP and C against LHP. When he was an everyday C, I could count on him to start six games in a row, then sit for a day.

Now that he's a RF most of the time, that calculation changes, but I can't quite make sense of how. His health is B+, and we're about to play game 110 of this season. If my opponent starts a RH, my guy will be in RF, and his energy is five bars green. But if a LH were to start, he'll sit- my lineup vs. LHP shows him red.

Intuitively, it might make sense that he could start in RF, but would be too beat-up to start at C - but if that were the case, I'd expect him to be at two bars on the lineup vs. RHP. The way it stands, if we keep facing righties, he'll play at least five straight games; and I'm not sure, but I think that even if I sat him vs. RHP for a game, he'd still be red as a C vs. LHP.

So, is there any sort of simple explanation how this (B+) level of health translates into availability for a part-time catcher?

Oops, wrong about that last bit - I sat him for a game vs. RHP, now he's full energy vs. both LH an RH.
