1954 Playoffs are upon us...

Congrats to the teams who already have a spot secured. In the NL Pittsburgh clinched the pennant today; Milwaukee the wilcard. Good luck MillerTime - this should be a close-fought battle with all your big sticks and late-season acquisitions, and my solid pitching and handful of big hitters.

In the AL, the Barracudas ran away from everybody and clinched the pennant long ago. And the magic number for KC getting the wildcard is down to 1 with 3 games to play. But it has been stuck at 1 for a few games, as the Zephyrs lost 3 straight wildcard clinchers, and the Hellfish have been on a tear. Still, with KC going up against the Rockets, one would think they should be able to win one game... right? We'll see what happens. Good luck to everybody!

AL Wildcard is a done deal now. KC's 3 straight losses were against Boston, so there's your ALCS preview :D

Here we go, MillerTime. Good luck to you tomorrow. We'll see if all those late season veteran acquisitions pay off for you. Frankly, I'm a little concerned about how my bats will do against your much improved staff. And good luck to Boston and Kansas City as well. I think anybody who meets Boston is going to need some luck...

KC is just showing up for the fun of it...Boston's hammered the Zephyrs all season :cool2:

Good luck to Boston anyway, and to the Lynx & MillerTime!

Good luck to each of you but I have to root for Pit or Mil to win it all.

Good luck Pittsburgh. Thanks for the kind words. I knew I had to do something in order to compete with that pitching staff. I have a short window with being able to compete for a championship and I figured that I have to act now. In about three years I don't know where this team will be, but I will have to worry about that then. The series is tied at one, and that is all that I wanted. It is down to a five game series now. Good Luck again.

I think I'll be with you in a few years trying to pick up the pieces of a team decimated by old age. The Lynx have a fair cadre of young pitchers, but few are true starters. We have little depth in the youth area, and my best bats are all salty veterans with but a couple seasons left. Let's make the best of it, I guess.

P.S. I'm still not sure if I'm going to start Elston or Rowland or Schultz in game 4. Not trying to surprise you or anything, just can't decide if I go with a weaker starter, or use up one of my best bullpen guys. Both are righties. I guess if Elston or Schultz pitch from the pen in Game 3, that will settle it. But be ready for a change.
