New premium league

Will there be a new premium league at some point. Would like to get in a pay league but want to start with a new team, a 32 team league. I don't want to take over a existing team. Just wondering if anyone knew.[Edited on 5-14-2014 by Cueball899]

The answer you're going to get is, if you can find 32 interested owners Admin will consider starting a new league. Right now there is a team up for sale in the FHFL, and considering its been for sale a few days, I don't think you're going to find 32 interested owners.

I would agree. We have been waiting for a new 32 man league for months. I don't see one any time soon.

I assure you. Taking over a football team. Good or bad is no where near as daunting as taking over a bad baseball team. you can get serviceable players into the 7th rd. Get on a waiting list!!!

A friend and I are looking to try football on for size. We're both active and intelligent owners in the Pie Traynor League. We'd love to join a league together, but I only see one opening in one premium league.Any ideas? Or is our best bet just keep checking until two openings pop up in the same league?

my advice would be to join a single season league together for a few seasons first.

There are a few openings in the Franco Harris Football League 32 team league.

It may be a 16 team league, I am not sure there is enough demand to fill 32 slots right now. Or I may try something new and expand an existing 16 team league to 32 teams.

If you start a brand new premium league I know of at least 2 people looking to own teams. I think you should shoot for 32 and if we have trouble filling than slide down to 16...if that's not a pain in the ass to re-code, I'm not sure.

Why don't you expand free leagues to 32 teams ... we only have one and it's the best I've ever played.
16 teams leagues are a little boring.

Why don't you expand free leagues to 32 teams ... we only have one and it's the best I've ever played.
16 teams leagues are a little boring.

The problem is downtime between restarts, which can be a lot longer in a 32 team league. If the playerbase starts growing, though, I can add more.

It's not terribly difficult, the biggest issue is I'd have to dump the draft class and make everyone re-rank. But many people who sign up for 32 don't want to play in 16 so we would lose some folks.

It's not terribly difficult, the biggest issue is I'd have to dump the draft class and make everyone re-rank. But many people who sign up for 32 don't want to play in 16 so we would lose some folks.

You started 12 free league with 16 teams in the last 20 days.
It means that you had almost 10 new teams a day.
So, it can be easy so get 32 teams ... and this league will attract old owners too.
If you're worried about time between season, even in 16 teams league you have to wait because another has not been filled up.
What's the problem?

Chris has put out feelers to gauge interest in a new 32 pay league. And the interest wasn't there. Comparing the effort of free leagues doesn't correlate to 32 users paying 80 bucks to start the league. It's an apple to an orange.

The new teams would go up for sale during the season. By the offseason, if the new teams are full, they would be folded into the league and the league would be realigned; otherwise, the league would pause just prior to the offseason until the league fills. An expansion draft would be held to fill the new teams, then the college draft would occur with the new teams picking last. (I am considering excluding the new teams from that first college draft, I need to see how it works out.)

There are 2 openings in the Franco Harris Premium League right now. One was a playoff team from last season.Pages: 1
