Enough said...just another stat to judge players performance on ....love it.May 06, 2014 at 01:17AM View BBCode
Though I will say on both my teams the strong safety is easily the leader in tackles. Is that reflective of "real" football. I'm not even sure and am too lazy too do a deep research. It also seems that DT's seem to be a little light on the number of tackles that they make during the season. My tackles seem to have mid 20's for tackles or are on pass for similar numbers. Seems to be a bit light there but that may reflect the pass happy offenses that seem to dominate these leagues I guess.May 06, 2014 at 01:23AM View BBCode
In my days of playing fantasy football in a league where we had individual defensive players instead of team defense I recall there were some strong safeties that really racked up the tackles. But generally speaking it's gonna be the linebackers that dominate the leaderboard.May 06, 2014 at 01:28AM View BBCode
Both safety positions seem to be credited with tackles at a rate that is 2-3X's higher than linebackers which seems to be pretty high. Zeta teams only passed just over 25% more than they ran so it's not like teams were throwing the ball all over the field to account for that type of discrepancy.May 06, 2014 at 01:37AM View BBCode
How far away is this from coming to the main football site?May 06, 2014 at 02:59AM View BBCode
am I missing something? I see the tkl numbers on the individual cards but a can't find them on the league stat pages.May 06, 2014 at 01:15PM View BBCode
Nope, you're not missing anything. Not added yet.May 06, 2014 at 03:46PM View BBCode
my top three tacklers are my FF (155 in 16 games), SS (96 in 11) and my SOLB (105 in 13). the two DT are at 32 and 29, respectively, and the guy who starts at ILB in the 3-4 but doesn't start in the 4-3 had 1 in 16 games, which seems weird to me. I guess we didn't play much 3-4?May 06, 2014 at 04:39PM View BBCode
SS = 157, FS = 147, SOLB = 66, WOLB = 36, MLB = 131 4 DTs = 53, 5 DEs = 105May 06, 2014 at 05:48PM View BBCode
I've always felt FS was one of the important positions, didn't realize that SS was as well!May 06, 2014 at 06:01PM View BBCode

My starting safeties are both averaging 10+ tackles a game in BPFL and last year in the ZFL my SS had 174 and my FS 131.May 07, 2014 at 02:34AM View BBCode
I would think that the top tacklers should be LB, but I have nothing to back that up. i'd think that SS would be up there somewhere though.May 07, 2014 at 03:15AM View BBCode
My Defensive linemen are getting nothing. 33 of the top 40 tacklers in the NFL last year were LB, including 29 of the top 30, the rest were safeties.May 07, 2014 at 03:24AM View BBCode
yeah, my d-ine is getting about the same as my corners, which also seems off to me.May 09, 2014 at 04:53AM View BBCode
DO NOT GIVE THESE NUMBERS MUCH WEIGHT YET.May 09, 2014 at 05:37AM View BBCode
