After the debauchery, cub reporter Meeker Milquetoast got quotes from some of those involved.
Detroit coach, Ivan Sippenett: My boys toiled relentlessly to perfect their guzzling technique and tolerance. They counted 12 ounce curl reps by the rack! Anything less was derided as lightweight. And then, for the coup de gras, the ruthless, sadistic fiends uncorked an atrocity in a category unto itself, (cringes in shame and revulsion) Steele Reserve. The devastation was complete and utter. Pardon me, I have to retire now; there's no coming back from this humiliation.
Brooklyn coach, Pound M. Downe. It was a fine series. That Detroit club sure can pull a cork. We're gonna teeter down to the clubhouse now and celebrate with the Champagne of bottled beer.
