What an intruiging split

Cap Banta has had an interesting rookie season so far. Initially, he was placed in the pen. I figured his high velocity and strong health could fair well there, while placing him in a priority spot would get him a good number of CPs to develop into the topnotch SP he has the potential to become. This plan backfired, as it seemed that ABE had it out for Cap. As a RP, Cap only managed to string together 5 smooth outings... that's 5 out of 14. He had 8 disastrous outings.
I'm not really sure why I chose to move him into the rotation. Jim Dumont has been struggling this season as well. He had been pitching in the #5 spot in my rotation. I didn't want to pull Banta out of a spot that would reduce his innings. He's also had back-to-back poor development years in the minors, so demoting him wasn't much of an option. So, I guess I came to the conclusion that a change of scenery of sorts would be good for the two. Since the shift, Banta has been superb in 4 starts. Dumont is still struggling in the pen, but that's another story.
Here are the splits:
Banta as a RP: 14 G, 0-2 record, 12 IP, 23 R, 23 ER, 22 H, 11 BB, 14 K, 17.25 ERA, 2.75 WHIP
Banta as a SP: 4 GS, 1-2 record, 29.2 IP, 8 R, 8 ER, 22 H, 10 BB, 2.42 ERA, 1.077 WHIP
